Job summary

Smart Solar Technologies, founded in 2014 and headquartered in Istanbul, seeks a Contracts Engineer to oversee EPC, supplier and subcontractor contracts across renewable energy projects. The role focuses on risk assessment, contract drafting and negotiation to support project execution.

You will collaborate with EPC, Procurement, Engineering and Legal teams, manage documentation, and ensure compliance with international standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, Industrial or related engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Contract Management / EPC Contract Engineering.
  • Experience in EPC projects in renewable energy (Solar, Wind, BESS).
  • Strong knowledge of supplier, subcontractor and EPC contracts.
  • Familiarity with FIDIC and international contract standards preferred.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • No travel restrictions; male candidates must have completed military service; residing in Istanbul or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review and administer EPC, subcontractor and supplier contracts in line with company policies and applicable legislation.
  • Review terms, identify risks and propose mitigation actions.
  • Coordinate contract preparation with relevant departments (EPC, Procurement, Engineering, Legal, etc.).
  • Prepare, revise and manage contract amendments and documentation.
  • Track milestones, obligations, expiry dates and correspondence in contract management tools.
  • Manage review, approval and signature workflow with stakeholders and external parties.
  • Ensure qualification documents, guarantees and insurances are complete and valid.
  • Maintain contract archives and document management systems.
  • Support negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Provide contractual support throughout project execution and assist teams in resolving contractual issues.

General Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or other related engineering disciplines from a reputable university.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Contract Management, Contract Administration or EPC Contract Engineering.
  • Proven experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) projects, preferably in the renewable energy sector (Solar, Wind, BESS).
  • Strong knowledge of supplier, subcontractor and EPC contracts, including drafting, reviewing and contract administration.
  • Experience in reviewing commercial terms, identifying contractual risks and supporting contract negotiations.
  • Familiarity with FIDIC and international contract standards is highly preferred.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and solution-oriented.
  • No travel restrictions.
  • For male candidates, military service must be completed.
  • Residing in Istanbul or willing to relocate.
