Job summary

Sezzle is seeking a Principal Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and scale the platform powering Sezzle. You’ll own architecture across AWS, Kubernetes, and Aurora RDS, and drive reliability, performance, and cost efficiency at scale.

You’ll lead on-call rotations, implement AI-assisted tooling, and work closely with Security and Compliance to deliver robust production systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience across infrastructure, platform, or site reliability.
• Deep expertise with AWS and Kubernetes in production.
• Strong coding and automation skills in Golang or Python.
• Experience with RDS/Aurora (MySQL/Postgres) and IaC tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture and evolution of core infrastructure.
• Engineer for scale and performance across compute, networking, and databases.
• Design and build AWS infrastructure and IAM, networking, and multi-AZ setups.
• Build and operate the Kubernetes platform with reliable deployments.
• Improve reliability through SLOs, incident response, and postmortems.
• Implement and test disaster recovery and backup strategies.
• Develop AI-assisted operational tooling to reduce toil.
• Collaborate with security, compliance, and application teams.
