Job summary

Loodos in Istanbul is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a 35+ strong software development team. You will own the end-to-end delivery of mobile and web applications, champion engineering excellence, and mentor engineers to raise our technical bar.

You'll collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams, shape architecture, set standards, and drive process improvements while remaining hands-on when necessary.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of technical experience, including 5+ years in engineering management.
• Experience delivering high quality consumer-facing web and mobile apps.
• Strong technical depth, able to review architecture and set standards.
• Leadership and mentoring skills to empower a team of engineers.
• Excellent project management, estimation, planning and risk management.
• Excellent communication with clients, cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile practices.
• Continuously improve processes and apply new technologies to raise quality.
• Genuine passion for staying current with new tech and adapting quickly.
• Ability to quickly learn, unlearn, and adapt.
• Excellent time management and deadline-driven delivery.
• Strong problem solving and analytical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a software development team of 35+ engineers.
• Own the entire software development lifecycle with cross-functional teams.
• Compile and present management reports and KPIs.
• Evaluate and apply best practices and new technologies to improve quality.
• Ensure systems are well-architected and highly available.
• Allocate resources to meet budgets and timelines.
• Ensure milestones and budgets are met while engaging with clients.
• Hands-on when needed to drive delivery and technical excellence.
