Job summary

Vanderlande is seeking a Low Level Control Engineer to support the Istanbul Airport Baggage Handling System. The role focuses on analyzing PLCs and baggage flow, generating shift reports, debugging with maintenance/SCADA, and handling incidents with the service desk.

You will document workflows, contribute to preventive maintenance, and apply firmware updates while ensuring change management processes optimize efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/mechatronics engineering or similar.
• Experience with PLC, SCADA (WinCC) and industrial networking including Ethernet/IP, Profinet, AS-I.
• Experience in programming Siemens PLCs.
• Understanding of SQL databases and reporting; IT components.
• ITIL Foundation knowledge is preferable.
• 1-3 years in automated material handling systems.
• Excellent Turkish and English communication skills.
• Residence in Istanbul or willingness to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Analyze & report system performance (PLCs and baggage flow) and system behavior.
• Create shift reports and coordinate with maintenance/SCADA; open tickets as needed.
• Execute lifecycle of open tickets and support tickets with service desks.
• Provide proper reporting between shifts and communicate with stakeholders.
• Analyze and filter events that could become incidents.
• Handle priority 1-2 incidents escalated to resolve within SLAs.
• Deliver preventive maintenance tasks and change tasks (backups, patches).
• Create documentation such as manuals, diagrams and work instructions.
• Perform performance analysis on tickets and review with Functional Managers.
• Update or create new processes per change management to improve efficiency.
• Study product line developments; apply firmware updates and update Synergy database.
