Job summary

MSC Group is seeking a Port Captain for the Tekirdağ Office to coordinate vessel operations at berth and ensure service levels meet schedules. You will protect MSC interests on the ground and manage live berth activities with a strong emphasis on coordination with terminals and agents.

Ideal candidates have maritime/port management education, 3+ years in vessel/terminal operations, and fluent English. Flexibility and leadership are essential for this busy role.

Qualifications

  • Preferably graduated from maritime/port management departments of universities.
  • At least 3 years of experience in operation (vessel/terminal).
  • Very good spoken and written knowledge of English.
  • Able to adapt flexible and busy working hours.
  • Have team management skills.
  • Have effective communication, planning and coordination skills.
  • Presentative and strong representation ability.
  • Analytical thinking, dynamic.
  • Have self-motivation and business discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Eyes and ears on the ground protecting the interest of MSC.
  • Planning and monitoring the live berth activities.
  • Berth performance management.
  • Coordinate and oversee vessel operations at berth.
  • Ensure that terminals are providing consistent level of service.
  • Ensure that schedule requirements are fully met.
  • Report any issue regarding vessel ops to the related managers in charge.
  • Secure coordination between agent and terminal for the berth and operations requirements.
  • Work closely with terminals and colleagues within organization to increase berth productivity and reduce port stay.
  • Monitoring the terminal developments in terms of upgrade on yard or equipment structure.
  • Any of vessel related issue which has possibility to delay operation.
