Job summary

MAT Filtration Technologies seeks a Jr. Lawyer to handle commercial agreements, regulatory compliance, and risk management from its Izmir base. You will support cross-functional teams, review contracts, and coordinate with external counsel as needed.

Ideal candidates hold an LL.B., Turkish Bar admission, and at least three years in corporate or commercial law, with fluent English and strong drafting skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B.); admission to the Turkish Bar Association is mandatory.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate legal affairs, commercial law, or as an in-house position.
• Strong knowledge of Turkish Commercial Code, Code of Obligations, Labor Law, Enforcement and Bankruptcy Law, Corporate Law, and Contract Law.
• Experience in reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Experience in litigation management and coordination with external law firms.
• Knowledge of international commercial transactions and cross-border legal matters is highly preferred.
• Excellent legal drafting, analytical thinking, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• High ethical standards, integrity, confidentiality, and professional judgment.
• Proficiency in MS Office Programs.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Review, draft, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer, supplier, distributor, confidentiality, service, and partnership agreements.
• Advise internal departments on legal matters, regulatory requirements, corporate governance, employment law, commercial law, and contractual risks.
• Identify legal risks and develop preventive legal strategies to protect the company's interests.
• Represent the company in litigation, arbitration, mediation, and enforcement proceedings, or coordinate with external legal counsel when necessary.
• Manage and monitor all litigation, disputes, claims, and enforcement proceedings from initiation through resolution.
• Prepare legal opinions regarding matters that may have legal, financial, or criminal implications for the company.
• Participate in domestic and international negotiations, meetings, and legal discussions on behalf of the company.
• Support contract negotiations to ensure legal compliance while protecting the company's commercial interests.
• Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory requirements and advise management on potential impacts.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including HR, Finance, Procurement, Sales, Operations, and Executive Management.
• Perform other duties assigned by management within the scope of the position.

MAT Filtration Technologies was established to provide the highest possible efficiency equipment and services on water filtration technology. Specifically MAT was established in 2012 in Izmir, Turkey and was founded by fish husbandry industry experts. Our expertise in animal husbandry for over 35 years is our biggest competitive advantage. Furthermore we understand animal behavior and we know in depth the operational needs to run properly a facility. Our company develops and tests the equipment performance and ensures its ease of operation on our marine fish quarantine facility in Izmir. We are looking for Lawyer (Jr.) with the qualifications below;
