Qualifications
- B.Sc. or higher degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Control & Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Preferably 2+ years of professional experience in automotive software, simulation, validation, test automation, or related engineering fields
- Good command of written and spoken English; German is considered a plus
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to work in an international engineering environment
- Flexible for occasional business travel
Technical Knowledge & Experience
Candidates are expected to have knowledge and/or hands-on experience in several of the following areas:
- Programming experience with C++ and/or C#
- Good understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles
- Knowledge of modern C++ concepts, including RAII, smart pointers, resource management, and memory management
- Understanding of multithreading, synchronization, thread safety, and concurrent programming
- Experience with communication interfaces and protocols such as:
- CAN / CAN FD
- Serial communication (UART / RS232 / RS485)
- TCP/IP
- Experience with automotive communication and diagnostic protocols is a plus
- Experience with Vector tools, such as CANoe, CANalyzer, and CANape
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow and model-based development is a plus
- Knowledge of MIL, SIL, PIL, and HIL simulation and validation methodologies
- Experience with HIL platforms and tools from dSPACE, Vector, NI, ETAS, or similar suppliers is a plus
- Experience in test case development, test automation, debugging, and root-cause analysis
- Familiarity with scripting/programming languages such as Python is a plus
- Experience with version control systems such as Git and SVN
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle, software architecture, and requirements-based testing
- Knowledge of CI/CD and automated test environments is a plus
- Automotive E/E systems and ECU knowledge is considered a strong plus
Job Description
As a Simulation & Validation Engineer, you will contribute to the development, simulation, integration, and validation of automotive E/E systems and software. Your responsibilities will include:
- Development and maintenance of simulation and validation environments
- Development of software tools and applications using C++, C#, Python, or similar technologies
- Implementation of communication interfaces using CAN, Serial, TCP/IP, and other relevant protocols
- Development of multithreaded applications and test/simulation tools
- Integration of ECUs, simulation models, measurement devices, and test systems
- Planning and preparation of E/E system and software test specifications
- Development and execution of automated and manual test cases
- Performing MIL, SIL, and HIL testing at system and/or component level
- Analysis of test results and identification of software, communication, and integration issues
- Debugging and root-cause analysis of detected problems
- Development and maintenance of test automation frameworks
- Requirements analysis and traceability between requirements and test cases
- Reporting and issue management within the area of responsibility
- Working closely with international development, system engineering, and validation teams
- Contributing to continuous improvement of simulation, testing, and validation processes
