Job summary

Sibelco Group is offering a Global Graduate Programme in Çine, Turkey, for a Geology & Hydrogeology Engineer. The two-year rotational program includes one-year assignments in key operational and commercial roles, with two years of potential international or regional exposure.

Participants receive a permanent contract from the start and will work on mine safety, geotechnical and hydrogeological assessments, and mining optimization at the Çine Cluster in Turkey.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Interest in geotechnical engineering, hydrogeology, mining operations and mine planning.
• Ability to analyse technical data and translate findings into practical recommendations.
• Strong interest in modelling, scenario analysis and data-driven decision-making.
• Good understanding of geological, hydrogeological or geotechnical principles.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Willingness to travel as required by the assignment.
• Valid driving licence.
• Openness to international/regional mobility during year two.

Responsibilities

• Support the update of geotechnical and hydrogeological models using the latest site data and studies.
• Review existing geotechnical and hydrogeological reports and identify key data gaps and risks.
• Analyse groundwater levels and trends and assess their potential impact on mine stability and safety.
• Contribute to the evaluation of slope angles, pit geometry and stripping ratio scenarios.
• Assess opportunities to optimize mining operations and reduce overburden while maintaining safe mining conditions.
• Support the implementation and follow-up of automated groundwater monitoring systems.
• Contribute to hydrogeological audits and subsequent geotechnical assessments.
• Develop cost-benefit analyses and business cases for water management and mining optimization opportunities.
• Prepare technical analyses, reports and presentations for site management and senior stakeholders.
• Work closely with geology, mining, operations and external technical experts to translate technical findings into practical recommendations.
