Job summary

CBOT is seeking a Business Analysts / QA Specialist to analyze business needs, gather requirements, and manage project lifecycles. You will prepare functional docs, use cases, and data mappings, while validating APIs and backend services through Postman, SoapUI, and SQL checks.

The role emphasizes collaboration with developers, product owners, and QA engineers, supporting UAT, release validation, and root cause analysis for production issues.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business needs, functional requirements, and system changes with business and technical teams.
• Gather, clarify, document, and manage business and system requirements during the project lifecycle.
• Prepare functional analysis docs, process diagrams, use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, and data mapping documents.
• Perform impact analysis to identify affected systems, services, integrations, and data.
• Translate requirements into test scenarios and test cases.
• Design, prepare, execute, and maintain test scenarios and test cases for backend services, APIs, integrations, and business processes.
• Validate business rules and end-to-end processes via API testing, service integration testing, and DB checks.
• Verify API requests/responses, data structures, and integration results using Postman/SoapUI.
• Carry out functional, regression, integration, system, end-to-end, smoke, and UAT support testing.
• Ensure developed solutions meet documented requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Identify gaps, risks, and process improvements during analysis and testing.
• Track defects with reproduction steps, results, data, logs, and evidence.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, architects, PMs, and QA engineers.
• Support UAT and issue analysis/resolution.
• Assist with release validation, deployment verification, and production smoke testing.
• Assist root cause analysis for production issues and recurring defects.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, development, tests, and defects.
• Contribute to improving analysis, testing, and QA processes.
• Contribute to test automation framework maintenance where applicable.
• Ensure standards and QA principles are followed across projects.

• Verify API requests, responses, error codes, data structures, and integration results using tools such as Postman and SoapUI.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, end-to-end, smoke, and user acceptance testing support activities.
• Verify that developed solutions meet documented business requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Identify requirement gaps, inconsistencies, risks, and potential process improvements during analysis and testing activities.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Provide clear reproduction steps, expected results, actual results, test data, logs, and supporting evidence for identified defects.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, business units, solution architects, project managers, and QA engineers.
• Support business users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and assist with issue analysis and resolution.
• Participate in release validation, deployment verification, and production smoke testing activities when required.
• Support root cause analysis for production issues and recurring defects.
• Ensure traceability between business requirements, development items, test cases, and defects.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to business analysis, testing, documentation, and quality assurance processes.
• Contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of existing test automation frameworks where applicable.
• Ensure analysis standards, testing best practices, documentation quality, and quality assurance principles are consistently followed across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in business analysis, software testing, quality assurance, or similar roles.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Must have experience in financial systems, payment infrastructures, payment systems, or similar transaction-intensive environments.
• Experience in analyzing business requirements and converting them into clear functional and technical requirements.
• Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and requirement management processes.
• Strong experience in manual testing, particularly for backend systems, services, and API integrations.
• Hands-on experience in RESTful and SOAP API testing using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, Swagger, or similar tools.
• Experience in validating API requests and responses, business rules, service integrations, and database consistency.
• Good knowledge of SQL and database concepts, preferably including Oracle, MongoDB, or similar database technologies.
• Experience in preparing business requirements, analysis documents, process flows, use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and test cases.
• Ability to perform impact analysis for new developments, enhancements, and system changes.
• Experience with defect, requirement, and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM/Quality Center, Confluence, or TestRail.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum software development methodologies.
• Ability to understand system integrations, data flows, backend services, and business processes.
• Basic knowledge of automation testing concepts and familiarity with Karate, Selenium, Appium, Cucumber, or similar frameworks is a plus.
• Basic programming or scripting knowledge in Java, Python, Ruby, or similar languages is preferred.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools such as Azure DevOps, GitLab, or Jenkins is considered an advantage.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Detail-oriented, quality-focused, self-motivated, collaborative, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
• Experience with Kibana and Elasticsearch.
