About the Role
We are looking for a Finance & Accounting Specialist to join our Finance & Administration team and ensure the accurate and timely execution of our daily accounting operations, reconciliations, tax processes, and month-end closing activities.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Record and monitor daily bank transactions and perform regular bank reconciliations.
- Review corporate credit card transactions, record related expenses using the appropriate accounting and expense codes, and reconcile monthly statements.
- Record sales invoices accurately and reconcile accounting records with sales data.
- Record domestic and international purchase invoices, ensuring correct general ledger and expense coding.
- Review and record employee expenses and ensure their appropriate accounting allocation.
- Manage and support VAT, VAT2 (Reverse Charge VAT), Withholding Tax, and provisional corporate tax processes, including the preparation and reconciliation of supporting accounting data.
- Regularly review general ledger accounts, identify incorrect or inconsistent entries, and prepare necessary adjustment and reclassification entries.
- Perform and support month-end closing activities, including prepaid expense recognition, accruals, payroll entries, cost accounting entries, depreciation calculations, and other period-end entries.
- Review relevant balance sheet and income statement accounts as part of the monthly closing process.
- Perform customer and supplier account reconciliations, investigate differences, and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Ensure accounting records and supporting documentation are accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and efficiency of finance and accounting processes.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant professional experience in accounting and/or finance.
- Good knowledge of general accounting principles and Turkish accounting practices and regulations.
- Hands-on experience with VAT, withholding tax, and provisional corporate tax.
- Experience with month-end closing, account reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
- Experience with accounting/ERP systems and strong working knowledge of MS Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with financial data.
- Good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and work effectively within monthly and statutory deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Proactive, responsible, and willing to learn and develop in a fast-growing international organization.
