Job summary

Yazaki Europe Middle East and Africa seeks a Facilities & Utilities Maintenance Engineer for our Akyazı plant in Sakarya, Turkey. You will oversee the maintenance and reliability of facility utility systems, plan preventive and corrective activities, and lead the maintenance team to ensure safe, efficient plant operations.

You will coordinate spare parts, supervise contractors, and drive energy-efficiency projects while using SAP to manage work orders and equipment records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering.
• Hands-on, field-oriented approach around equipment and plant infrastructure.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for root-cause analysis.
• Ability to coordinate technical teams, contractors and suppliers.
• Fluent in English and Turkish, with good written and spoken communication.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for Facilities & Utilities Maintenance Engineer which will be located in our plant Akyazı, SAKARYA.

What will your job be about?

• Managing the maintenance, reliability and continuous operation of facility and utility systems, including compressors, generators, chillers, HVAC systems, electrical infrastructure, water and natural gas systems
• Conducting detailed breakdown and downtime analyses, identifying root causes and taking preventive actions against recurring failures
• Planning and coordinating preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities for utility equipment and infrastructure
• Closely monitoring energy and utility systems to ensure reliable, safe and efficient operation of the plant
• Leading and mobilizing the maintenance team to take prompt and effective action during breakdowns and emergency situations
• Managing and ensuring the timely procurement of spare parts, technical materials and maintenance services required for facility equipment
• Actively utilizing the SAP maintenance module for maintenance planning, work orders, spare parts and equipment-related processes
• Coordinating and supervising external contractors and service providers for maintenance, repair, inspection and improvement activities
• Conducting technical and commercial negotiations with suppliers to improve system performance, service quality and maintenance/spare-part costs
• Supporting energy-efficiency and cost-reduction projects related to electricity, compressed air, heating, cooling, water and natural gas consumption
• Following statutory inspections, maintenance requirements and technical compliance activities related to facility equipment
• Working actively on the shop floor and throughout the plant, with a strong hands-on approach to technical issues and field operations.

What will you bring with you?

• A bachelor’s degree preferably in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering
• Knowledge of or strong interest in industrial utility and facility systems, such as compressors, generators, chillers, HVAC, electrical distribution, water and natural gas systems
• Basic exposure to corporate or industrial working environments is sufficient; highly experienced profiles are not mandatory for this role
• A hands‑on, field‑oriented approach with the willingness to actively work around equipment and plant infrastructure rather than focusing only on desk work
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with an interest in root cause analysis, preventive maintenance and equipment reliability
• Ability to coordinate technical teams, contractors and suppliers effectively
• Advanced written and spoken English & Turkish
• A strong field‑oriented profile capable of managing both technical processes and a blue‑collar maintenance team on the shop floor
• Familiarity with SAP maintenance processes is an advantage
• Awareness of occupational health & safety requirements when working with electrical, mechanical and utility systems
• Residing in or able to reside in Sakarya.
