Job summary

Çimsa Çimento Sanayi ve Ticaret seeks an Environmental Engineer for our Mersin Plant to lead environmental performance and regulatory compliance. You will monitor emissions, water and waste KPIs, drive resource efficiency, and contribute to sustainability and decarbonization efforts.

You will coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Quality and HSE to implement improvements and ensure budget adherence, while preparing for audits and fostering environmental awareness across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering
• 2+ years of environmental management experience, preferably in cement/mining/energy/manufacturing sectors
• Plant/site environmental management experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with environmental legislation, permits, licenses and other legal requirements.
• Manage environmental permits, declarations, reporting and communications with authorities.
• Monitor, analyze and report emissions, air quality, water and waste KPIs.
• Develop initiatives to improve waste and water management and resource efficiency.
• Identify environmental risks, conduct site inspections and follow up on improvements.
• Contribute to sustainability, decarbonization initiatives and alternative fuel/raw material projects.
• Prepare for environmental audits and track actions.
• Monitor the environmental budget and actual expenditures.
• Promote environmental awareness and training.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Energy, HSE, Sustainability and other functions.

In this context, we are looking for an Environmental Engineer who will be responsible for managing the environmental performance and legal compliance processes of our Mersin Plant, while contributing to our sustainability and decarbonization targets.

In this role, you will play an active part in ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, monitoring emissions and environmental data, improving water and waste management, reducing environmental risks, and developing sustainable production practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with environmental legislation, permits, licenses, and other legal requirements.
• Manage environmental permits, declarations, reporting, and communication with relevant authorities.
• Monitor, analyze, and report emissions, air quality, water, waste, and environmental KPIs.
• Develop initiatives to improve waste and water management and resource efficiency.
• Identify environmental risks, conduct site inspections, and follow up on improvement actions.
• Contribute to alternative fuel/raw material, sustainability, and decarbonization initiatives.
• Prepare for environmental audits and follow up on related actions.
• Monitor the environmental budget and actual expenditures.
• Contribute to environmental awareness and training activities.
• Collaborate effectively with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Energy, HSE, Sustainability, and other relevant functions.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience in environmental management, preferably in the cement, mining, energy, or manufacturing sectors.
• Experience in environmental management in a plant/site environment is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Holder of an Environmental Officer Certificate.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, permits/licenses, emissions, waste, and water management.
• Experience in environmental measurement, monitoring, and reporting processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Knowledge of sustainability, carbon management, or decarbonization is preferred.

Other Qualifications

• B2 level of English proficiency.
