As Reed Turkey, we are looking for an "Engineering & Design Manager" for our client operating in the Healthcare sector.
This role goes far beyond traditional engineering responsibilities and requires successfully combining engineering, project management, financial evaluation, real estate development, commercial negotiation, and operational transformation within a fast-paced healthcare logistics environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar discipline,
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in engineering, facility development, project management, and infrastructure investments,
- Demonstrated experience in managing end-to-end warehouse/DC development projects, from site selection and lease negotiations through to facility launch and operational readiness.
- Experience within healthcare distribution, pharmaceutical logistics, healthcare supply chain, or temperature-controlled logistics sectors is highly preferred,
- Strong experience in feasibility studies, business case preparation, ROI, NPV, and investment analysis,
- Experience managing CAPEX projects, budgets, timelines, and external contractors,
- Knowledge of warehouse automation, conveyor systems, sorter systems, and material handling technologies,
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design tools and advanced MS Office skills,
- Strong analytical thinking, project management, and stakeholder management capabilities,
- Knowledge of GDP (Good Distribution Practices) is a strong plus,
- Advanced English, written and spoken.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering and design activities for new warehouses, distribution centers, and operational facilities,
- Coordinate architectural, mechanical, electrical, and engineering disciplines throughout project lifecycles,
- Define technical standards, design criteria, and sustainability initiatives while ensuring regulatory and GDP compliance,
- Conduct location assessments and evaluate warehouse, facility, and land opportunities from both technical and financial perspectives,
- Lead lease negotiations, contract management, relocation projects, and new facility launches,
- Manage CAPEX and infrastructure investment projects, including budgeting, planning, contractor management, and project delivery,
- Drive warehouse automation, conveyor, sorter, and material handling projects while evaluating innovative technologies,
- Develop business cases, feasibility studies, ROI, NPV, and payback analyses to support investment decisions,
- Oversee maintenance, refurbishment, and operational readiness programs across existing warehouses and facilities,
