Job summary

Sii is seeking an experienced Electrical Power Systems Designer to join a team delivering substations and GIS/AIS switchgear projects for energy sector clients. You will prepare technical documentation, design medium- and high-voltage installations, and coordinate engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Hands-on experience with RUPLAN (and Engineering Base) is required, and you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while producing compliant documentation and drawings in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience with RUPLAN and/or Engineering Base software.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power engineering documentation and schematics.
• Good command of English or German for technical communication.
• Experience with switchgear system design is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design GIS/AIS switchgear systems and HV substations.
• Prepare electrical schematics and technical documentation using RUPLAN.
• Coordinate engineering activities from bidding to delivery of project documentation.
• Maintain project documentation per standards and client requirements.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Power Systems Designer to join a team delivering projects related to the design of power substations and GIS/AIS switchgear systems for clients in the energy sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing technical documentation, designing medium- and high-voltage installations, and coordinating engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle. A key requirement for this role is hands‑on experience with the RUPLAN design tool.

Your tasks

• Design of GIS/AIS switchgear systems and medium- and high-voltage substations
• Preparation of electrical schematics, technical documentation, and detailed design deliverables using RUPLAN
• Coordination and execution of power engineering projects from the bidding phase through to the delivery of complete project documentation
• Preparation and maintenance of project documentation in compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and client requirements
• Close collaboration with multidisciplinary project teams and stakeholders throughout all phases of project delivery
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience
• Hands‑on experience with RUPLAN and/or Engineering Base software
• Strong knowledge of electrical power engineering documentation and electrical schematics
• Good command of English or German, enabling effective work with technical documentation and communication with clients
  

Nice to have

• Experience in the design of switchgear systems, power substations, or medium- and high-voltage electrical systems
