Job summary

Eaton is seeking an expert design engineer to lead SF6-free Switchgear development, focusing on complex kinematic mechanism design, topology optimization, and material selection within the Prolauch project framework.

You will drive lifecycle-compliant, validated products and contribute to patent filings while coordinating with global teams to ensure robust mechanical systems and test plans.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; MSc/PhD preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in multibody dynamic system projects; load break switchgear/mechanism design is preferred.

What You’ll Do

The expert design engineer will act as a key developer for the developed SF6-free Switchgear product portfolio, undertaking tasks such as designing complex kinematic mechanisms requiring multi-link power transmission, performing transmission efficiency, speed and endurance calculations, determining related materials and manufacturing methodologies, carrying out topology optimizations, and performing activity matrix design validation activities integrated into the Eaton Prolauch project management system. It also designs lifecycle-compliant, validated products with moldable design outputs for isolative structural and kinamatic subsystems.The expert design engineer will lead patent applications to secure intellectual property rights.Providing 'Technology Readiness Level' outputs.

Operational
  • Takes responsibility as an executive key developer of R&D Switchgear projects.
  • Conduct boundary conditions and engineering discussions with global teams.
  • Leading complex kinematic multibody dynamic subsystem mechanism designs and capable to calculation. Involving FEA and MBD analysis.
  • Design verification/prototyping/validation type testing /production studies.
  • System efficiency analysis .
  • Carrying out material&manufacturing methodologies selections such as termoset-thermo plastic injection/forged/welded/stamping/ machinary /sheet metal etc.
  • Developing/reporting concept designs and applying selection methodologies.
  • Topology optimization studies according to standards/environmental conditions/cost out opportunities with investigating new technologies and lean approaches.
  • Provides design development by researching such as published patent /benchmarking/manufacturing technologies and reviewing specs for local&external regulations.
  • Providing product line support activities to NPI transitions.
  • Defining risks and mitigations on DFMEA &PFMEA activities.
  • Robust thecnical drawing sharings.SCM /Quality/Operation communucation
  • Defining control plans and quailty outputs .
  • Involvinng multifunctinal local and grobal teams.

Qualifications
  • Mechanical Engineering BSC Req.( MSc. / Phd. Preferred)
  • An experience of minimum 8 years in multi body dynamic system projects or academic studies. Load break switchgear / Circuit breaker switching device and mechanism designers are preferable.
Skills
  • Robotics/Automotive Industry or agricultural machinery can be evaluated.
  • Required, capable on generating the kinematic, dynamic and structural system of mechanical systems and manufacturing methods. (termoset-thermo plastic molded injection parts/forged/welded/stamping/ machinary /sheet metal/sintering etc. )
  • Green belt in DFSS /experience over finite elements are preferable.
  • Analysis,heat&mass transfer analysis preferred .
  • Knowledge over material properties and selection especailly for steel and polymers.
  • Capable technical knowlge on coationg and protection.
  • Taking executive roles on Prolaunch tasks and technical solutions.
  • Designing cost oriented perspective.
  • Expert level in Cad design , and design data management systems. MSc ADAMS , Ansys motion users are prefered.,Minitab and finite element programs (Ansys, Solidworks simulation)prefered.
  • Good command of English (minimum B2 level or above preferred).
  • Being multi-locational team member and presenting the project within the organization.
  • Strong research, analytical, and technical reporting skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Experience with patent applications, intellectual property management, or innovation activities is considered an advantage.
