Job summary

BİM Birleşik Mağazalar A.Ş. is seeking a DevOps/SRE Engineer to own and evolve cloud infrastructure for its e-commerce platform.

You will work with engineering teams to build a scalable, secure, and reliable system using modern automation and AI-assisted operations practices. The role focuses on infrastructure as code, CI/CD, container orchestration, observability, disaster recovery, and FinOps, with a strong emphasis on automation and reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of DevOps/SRE/infrastructure engineering experience.
• Extensive hands-on AWS experience (EKS/ECS, RDS, ElastiCache, MSK, VPC).
• Terraform IaC experience; CloudFormation/CDK a plus.
• Strong Docker and ECS, Kubernetes and Helm skills.
• CI/CD with GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins; GitOps with ArgoCD/Flux a plus.
• Observability stack: metrics, logs, tracing, dashboards, alerting (Prometheus/Grafana/CloudWatch).
• DR/HA design and testing; multi-region experience is a plus.
• Solid networking and security fundamentals (VPC, subnets, TLS, secrets).
• Data/messaging infra experience (Kafka/MSK, PostgreSQL/RDS, Redis/ElastiCache).
• Scripting/automation in Bash; Python or Go is a plus.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools in daily workflows.
• Proven ability to operate high-traffic e-commerce or payments platforms.

• Design and secure network topology and cloud environments.
• Manage secrets, access control, and encryption practices.
• Operate data and messaging layer at infra level: backups, replication, upgrades, capacity.
• Drive reliability engineering: incident response, on-call, post-mortems, and SLOs improvement.
• Champion automation-first and AI-assisted operations in daily workflows.
• Own cloud cost visibility and FinOps initiatives.
• Collaborate with backend teams on deployment models, scaling targets, production readiness.
• Document infrastructure decisions and mentor engineers.

About the Role

We're looking for a DevOps / SRE Engineer to join our e-commerce platform team. You'll own and evolve our cloud infrastructure, deployment, and reliability practices end-to-end, collaborate closely with engineering teams, and help build a scalable, secure, and resilient platform using modern automation and AI-assisted operations practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain infrastructure as code across all environments
• Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines that ship microservices safely and frequently to production
• Operate and scale our container platform, including deployment, autoscaling, and rollout strategies
• Design and implement the observability stack end-to-end: metrics, logs, tracing, dashboards, and alerting
• Define, implement, and regularly test disaster recovery against agreed RTO/RPO targets
• Design and secure our network topology and cloud environments
• Manage secrets, access control, and encryption practices end-to-end
• Operate the data and messaging layer at the infrastructure level — backups, replication, upgrades, and capacity
• Drive reliability engineering: incident response, on-call, post-mortems, and continuous improvement of SLOs
• Champion automation-first and AI-assisted operations culture, embedding it into daily infrastructure workflows
• Own cloud cost visibility and optimization (FinOps)
• Partner closely with backend teams on deployment models, scaling targets, and production readiness
• Document infrastructure decisions and mentor engineers to strengthen operational knowledge sharing

Qualifications

• 5+ years of DevOps / SRE / infrastructure engineering experience
• Extensive hands‑on experience with AWS (EKS/ECS, RDS, ElastiCache, MSK, VPC/networking)
• Proven infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform (CloudFormation or CDK a plus)
• Strong hands‑on experience with Docker and ECS, with Kubernetes and Helm a plus
• Solid CI/CD experience (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar) with automated, safe rollout practices, GitOps (ArgoCD/Flux) a plus
• Hands‑on experience building and operating observability practices — metrics, logging, distributed tracing, dashboards, and alerting (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, APM, or similar)
• Experience designing and testing disaster recovery (DR) and High Availability (HA) architectures, with multi‑region experience a plus
• Solid networking and security fundamentals (VPC design, subnets, security groups, load balancing, DNS, TLS, secrets management)
• Experience operating data and messaging infrastructure (Kafka/MSK, PostgreSQL/RDS, Redis/ElastiCache) — replication, backup/restore, HA, and capacity planning (OpenSearch a plus)
• Solid scripting and automation skills with Bash (Python or Go a plus)
• Hands‑on experience using AI‑assisted tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) in daily engineering workflows, including infrastructure and automation work
• Experience operating and scaling high‑traffic systems (e‑commerce, payments, banking, telecom, or similar)
