BİM Birleşik Mağazalar A.Ş. is seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer to build and scale core services powering its high-traffic e-commerce platform. You will own critical systems end-to-end and drive architectural decisions in a fast-paced retail tech environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend development experience.
• Java 21 and Spring Boot / Spring Cloud experience.
• Hands-on AI-assisted coding tools usage in daily work.
• Experience designing and running microservices in production.
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design for complex domains.
• Event-driven architecture with Kafka or similar messaging.
• Relational databases experience with high-volume data (PostgreSQL).
• Caching and session management with Redis; rate limiting.
• Search/filtering with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.
• Containerized deployments with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Observability, disaster recovery, and HA practices.
• Strong focus on code quality, maintainability, tests, and CI/CD.
• Experience on high-traffic systems (e-commerce, payments, etc.).
• AWS services exposure (EKS, RDS, ElastiCache, MSK, S3).

BİM Birleşik Mağazalar A.Ş., which began operations in 1995 with 21 stores, is today the company with the highest market share in Turkey's organized retail sector.

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer to help build and scale the core services powering our e-commerce platform. You'll take ownership of critical systems end-to-end, shape architectural decisions, and work at the intersection of high-traffic infrastructure and modern engineering practices

Responsibilities

• Contribute to end-to-end architectural design and help shape technical standards
• Champion AI-assisted development culture and make it part of daily engineering workflows
• Develop critical services and features end-to-end and own them in production
• Define service boundaries, data ownership, and inter-service communication models
• Design and implement solutions that meet scalability and performance targets
• Define and implement disaster recovery (DR), security, and observability practices
• Work closely with product and other teams to shape technical requirements
• Actively participate in code reviews, upholding quality and maintainability standards
• Act as a technical partner on complex problems and guide the team
• Document technical decisions and mentor less experienced engineers to strengthen knowledge sharing and technical alignment

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend development experience
• Experience with Java 21 and the Spring Boot / Spring Cloud ecosystem
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) as part of daily development workflows
• Experience designing and running microservices in production (data modeling, API design, inter-service communication)
• Experience modeling complex business domains and designing bounded contexts using Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
• Experience with event-driven architecture and distributed data consistency using Kafka or similar messaging platforms
• Experience with performance tuning, migration management, and high-volume data on PostgreSQL (or similar relational databases)
• Experience with Redis for caching strategies, session management, and rate-limiting
• Experience with Elasticsearch / OpenSearch for search and filtering infrastructure
• Experience with container-based deployment using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
• Experience with observability practices, DR, and High Availability (HA) architecture
• Strong command of code quality, maintainability, test automation, and CI/CD practices
• Experience working on high-traffic systems (e-commerce, payments, banking, telecom, etc.)
• Experience with AWS services (EKS, RDS, ElastiCache, MSK, S3)
