QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
Turkiye Technology Center is looking for “Design Engineers / Lead Design Engineers” to work on following domains: Rotors (Blisks, disks, shafts, …) Structures (cases, frames, …) Compression Systems (blades, vanes, shrouds, …) in a technology base located in Kartal, İstanbul which is being established by GE Aerospace and TEI (Tusaş Engine Industries, Inc.).
This position is for an individual contributor who will be responsible for the new-make manufacture of combustors and structures parts across GE Aerospace's engine lines in GE Shops. The role will involve solving manufacturing and producibility challenges while driving excellence through engineering and leadership characteristics.

Qualifications & Requirements
- BSc and/or MSc in Mechanical or Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited college or university,
- At least 5 years of experience in mechanical component design engineering,
- Excellent command of written and spoken English,
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills,
- Demonstrated skills, familiarity or ability to learn CAD modelling and simulation tools,
- Strong cross-functional teaming, coordination and communication skills,
- Highly motivated, self-starter who is passionate about inventing the next generation of aviation technology,
- Demonstrated accountability, ownership skills and diligence in meeting commitments within tight and fluctuation schedules,
- Ability to guide and influence others.
Desired Characteristics
- Mechanical design experience in relevant industry positions (aerospace, defense, automative, energy, home appliances, etc),
- Knowledge of different engine platforms and architectures, able to make meaningful benchmarking to leverage,
- Creativity, able to demonstrate multi-skilled execution,
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fluctuating environment with flexible attitude,
- Ability to right-size, delivering results and concepts with the calibrated level of assessments,

The essential responsibilities of this position are:
- Execute the design of parts in technology demonstrator programs leading/performing component/assembly level design assessments for engine hardware in accordance with the required best practices,
- Work closely/efficiently with global teams performing module and component level design adhering to business standards, practices, procedures and product/program requirements,
- Contribute and adhere to daily management routine, standard work activities and work aligned with KPIs,
- Working closely with technical leadership, develop a project plan establishing work packages, milestones, objectives in accordance with program schedule,
- Document lessons learned and ensure continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in design of aerospace components.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, especially of aerospace components.
- Flexible and friendly approach to working in global teams.
- Experience with ANSYS and NX.
- Practical experience with GD&T in ASME Y14.5.
- Fundamental understanding of turbomachinery system design.
