Job summary

TEI - TUSAŞ Motor Sanayii A.Ş. in Kartal, Istanbul, invites applications for Design Engineers/Lead Design Engineers to work on rotors, structures, and compression systems for next‑generation engine programs.

The role sits in Advanced Mechanical Design teams, supporting technology demonstrators, ground and flight test demos.

Qualifications

• BSc and/or MSc in Mechanical or Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical component design engineering.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
• Familiarity with CAD modelling and simulation tools.

Responsibilities

• Execute the design of parts for technology demonstrator programs, leading design assessments for engine hardware.
• Collaborate with global teams on module and component level design following standards and requirements.
• Contribute to daily management routines, standard work activities, and KPIs.
• Develop a project plan with work packages, milestones, and objectives aligned to the program schedule.
• Document lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Turkiye Technology Center is looking for “Design Engineers / Lead Design Engineers” to work on following domains: Rotors (Blisks, disks, shafts, …) Structures (cases, frames, …) Compression Systems (blades, vanes, shrouds, …) in a technology base located in Kartal, İstanbul which is being established by General Electric Aviation, GE MTC (General Electric Marmara Technology Center) and TEI (Tusaş Engine Industries, Inc.).

Lead Design Engineer will be a part of the Advanced Mechanical Design teams, responsible for the mechanical design activities of various module and components for the next-generation engine programs and relevant technology demonstrators, execution of design review cycles/ hardware releases and test support for the technology demonstrator rigs, Ground Test and Flight Test Demo engines.

Expected qualification, requirements and desired characteristics from candidates are as below:

Qualifications & Requirements

• BSc and/or MSc in Mechanical or Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited college or university,
• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical component design engineering,
• Excellent command of written and spoken English,
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills,
• Demonstrated skills, familiarity or ability to learn CAD modelling and simulation tools,
• Strong cross-functional teaming, coordination and communication skills,

The essential responsibilities of this position are:

• Execute the design of parts in technology demonstrator programs leading/performing component/assembly level design assessments for engine hardware in accordance with the required best practices,
• Work closely/efficiently with global teams performing module and component level design adhering to business standards, practices, procedures and product/program requirements,
• Contribute and adhere to daily management routine, standard work activities and work aligned with KPIs,
• Working closely with technical leadership, develop a project plan establishing work packages, milestones, objectives in accordance with program schedule,
• Document lessons learned and ensure continuous improvement.
