Job summary

Ford Otosan is seeking a commercially minded lawyer to join its Legal & Compliance team in Türkiye. You will draft, review and manage a broad range of local and international commercial contracts, advising on complex transactions and aligning with company policies.

You should have a law degree with an LL.M, at least five years of experience, and fluent English. The role offers hybrid work, opportunities to operate across functions and markets, and exposure to corporate, IP and compliance matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Law required; LL.M in Private Law is a plus.
• Minimum five years of legal experience.
• Experience at a reputable law firm and/or large industrial or multinational company.
• Knowledge of Competition Law and Intellectual Property Law; automotive industry experience is a plus.
• Advanced reading and speaking proficiency in English.
• Proven experience drafting, negotiating and managing complex commercial agreements (e.g., BD, technology licenses, loans, projects, M&A, distribution).
• Strong understanding of commercial risk assessment and contract negotiation strategies.
• Self-starter with sound business judgment.
• Strong ownership mindset to manage matters independently and drive to completion.
• Ability to manage multiple high-impact matters in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative working style with high ethical standards and integrity.

You will join Ford Otosan's Legal & Compliance organization and report directly to the Contract Management Leader. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of law, business, innovation, and strategic decision-making in one of Türkiye's leading industrial companies.

Key responsibilities include:

• Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and managing a broad range of local and international commercial contracts.
• Acting as a trusted business partner to various departments by providing practical, solution-oriented legal advice and supporting the structuring of complex transactions.
• Ensuring consistency of contractual arrangements with Ford Otosan's policies, compliance requirements, risk appetite, and strategic objectives.
• Supporting the continuous development and effective operation of Ford Otosan's contract management framework and governance processes.
• Identifying lessons learned and market best practices and incorporating them into contract templates.
• Advising stakeholders on a wide range of legal matters, including commercial, compliance, corporate, intellectual property related topics.
• Designing and delivering engaging legal training programs for business teams.
• Contributing to legal operations, digitalization initiatives, process improvement projects, and compliance programs.
• Collaborating with and advising local and global stakeholders across different functions, business units, and international markets on legal matters.

What are we looking for in this position?

We are looking for a commercially minded lawyer who combines strong legal expertise with curiosity, collaboration, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

The candidate must have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Law, preferably complemented with an LL.M degree (Private Law specialization is a plus)
• Minimum five years of legal experience
• Related transactional experience gained at a reputable law firm and/or a large industrial or multinational company
• Knowledge of Competition Law, Intellectual Property Law and automotive industry experience is a plus
• Advanced Reading and Speaking proficiency in English
• Proven experience in drafting, negotiating and managing complex commercial agreements (e.g. business development, technology license, loan, projects, M&A, distribution etc.)
• Strong understanding of commercial risk assessment and contract negotiation strategies
• Self-starter with sound business judgment
• Strong ownership mindset with the confidence to manage matters independently and drive them to completion
• Strong prioritization skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple high-impact matters in a fast-paced environment
• Capable to cope with different job disciplines, willing to tackle matters outside areas of expertise with a can-do and creative approach
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and management levels
• Ability to translate legal concepts into practical and business-oriented recommendations to provide clear & effective guidance on legal matters to various departments supported
