Job summary

Açık Holding seeks a Commercial & Contract Chief based in Ümraniye, Istanbul, to lead all commercial and contractual activities for a Data Center project. The role requires a deep understanding of contract law, FIDIC-based contracts, and strong negotiation skills.

The ideal candidate has a civil/industrial engineering background, 6+ years in large-scale construction, and the ability to manage subcontract agreements and variations while coordinating with multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a reputable university.
• Minimum 6 years in large-scale construction projects, with at least 3 years in commercial and contract roles.
• Fluent in English and strong contract management knowledge; familiar with FIDIC-based contracts.

Responsibilities

• Manage all commercial and contractual activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Administer main contract and subcontract agreements per contractual requirements.
• Review, evaluate, and manage variation orders, claims, and extension of time submissions.
• Prepare and maintain contractual correspondence with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Monitor subcontractor commercial performance, payment processes, and contractual compliance.
• Coordinate with technical office, procurement, planning, and project teams on commercial matters.
• Identify contractual risks and opportunities and provide recommendations to project management.
• Prepare periodic commercial reports and support budget monitoring activities.
• Ensure proper documentation, tracking, and filing of all contractual records.
• Provide leadership, supervision, and direction to the commercial and contract management team.

We are seeking a "Commercial & Contract Chief" to be based in Ümraniye (Dudullu), İstanbul for a Data Center Project, meeting the qualifications listed below:

General Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a reputable university,
• Minimum 6 years of experience in large-scale construction projects (preferably data centers, industrial facilities, or energy projects), including at least 3 years in commercial and contract management roles,
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, commercial management, and change management processes throughout the project lifecycle,
• Experience in managing subcontract agreements, claims, variation orders, and contractual correspondence,
• Familiarity with FIDIC-based contracts and international contracting practices,
• Experience in cost control, budget monitoring, and commercial reporting processes,
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking),
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications,
• Strong negotiation, leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset,
• Residing in İstanbul (preferably the Asian side).
