Job summary

Tüprag A.Ş., a mining subsidiary in Turkey, seeks an experienced Contracts Chief for the Uşak-Kışladağ site to manage end-to-end contracts and procurement processes.

You will lead tendering, commercial negotiations, and risk monitoring, while driving digitalization of contract management using SAP Ariba and CLM.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end preparation, negotiation, execution, amendment, renewal and close-out of material, service and construction contracts.
• Coordinate tender processes from development of tender strategy through contract award and signature.
• Prepare technical, commercial and administrative tender documents across disciplines.
• Perform commercial evaluation of bids, including unit-price and total-cost analyses.
• Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers/contractors and establish protective terms.
• Manage progress payments, variations, change orders, extensions of time and claims.
• Monitor contracts for schedule, budget, obligations, performance and risk.
• Identify risks and coordinate preventive actions with stakeholders.
• Contribute to standardization, digitalization and continuous improvement of tender/contract processes.
• Ensure SAP Ariba, CLM, e-sourcing or similar systems are used effectively.

POSITION DETAILS

Our company, Tüprag Metal Madencilik, is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Contracts Chief to be assigned to our Uşak - Kışladağ mining site.

This position will be responsible for the end-to-end management of material, service and construction contracts; tendering and commercial negotiation processes; contract performance and risk monitoring; and continuous improvement and digitalization of contract management processes.

• Manage the end-to-end preparation, negotiation, execution, amendment, renewal and close-out of material, service and construction contracts.
• Coordinate tender processes from development of the tender strategy through contract award and signature in collaboration with relevant functions.
• Coordinate the preparation of technical, commercial and administrative tender documents across relevant disciplines.
• Perform commercial evaluation of bids, including unit-price and total-cost analyses.
• Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers and contractors and establish contractual terms that protect the Company’s interests.
• Manage progress payments, contract variations/change orders, additional works, price adjustments, extensions of time and contractual claims in coordination with relevant functions.
• Monitor active contracts in terms of schedule, budget, obligations, performance, risk, guarantees, insurance, renewals and close-out criteria.
• Evaluate supplier and contractor performance and develop performance-improvement actions when required.
• Identify contractual and commercial risks at an early stage and coordinate preventive and corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.
• Contribute to the standardization, simplification, digitalization and continuous improvement of tender and contract management processes.
• Ensure effective use of SAP Ariba, CLM, e-sourcing or similar systems and actively contribute to system and process development initiatives.
• Develop and improve contract/tender KPIs, dashboards and management reporting.
• Develop contract templates, procedures, workflows, checklists and standard working methods.
• Work closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, finance, legal, HSE, environment and procurement teams to ensure contracts support operational requirements.
• Develop sustainable, long-term and strategically aligned business relationships with critical suppliers and contractors.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in contract management, tendering and procurement processes.
• Preferably experienced in mining, heavy industry, energy, construction or similar project- and operations‑intensive industries.
• Advanced English proficiency, with the ability to conduct meetings, negotiations and commercial discussions in English.
• Hands‑on experience in unit‑price analysis, cost analysis, quantity take‑off/measurement, tender specifications, technical/commercial/administrative specifications, bid evaluation, tendering and negotiation processes.
• Experience in preparing, reviewing, negotiating, administering and closing material, service and construction contracts.
• Knowledge and experience in progress payments, progress tracking, price adjustments, variation/change orders, additional works, extensions of time and contractual claim management.
• Ability to assess commercial and operational contract risks and monitor obligations and critical contractual clauses.
• Ability to systematically prioritize, monitor, renew and report on a portfolio of more than 100 active contracts.
• Experience in subcontractor and supplier management, with strong professional communication skills with contractor and supplier representatives.
• Knowledge of relevant Turkish Social Security (SGK) legislation, principal employer–subcontractor relationships and contractor working processes.
• Strong negotiation, influencing, problem‑solving and conflict‑management skills.
• Ability to establish effective coordination among technical, operations, legal, finance, HSE, environment, procurement and other relevant functions.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to develop sustainable and strategic supplier/contractor relationships aligned with long‑term Company objectives.
• Knowledge and experience in SAP Ariba or similar e‑sourcing/procurement platforms.
• Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), e‑tender/e‑sourcing, supplier management and digital procurement platforms.
• Experience in software implementation/development projects for digitalization, automation and standardization of tender and contract processes is preferred.
• Continuous‑improvement mindset, with the ability to analyze current tender/contract processes and identify bottlenecks, control gaps and inefficiencies.
• Experience in developing and implementing procedures, workflows, control mechanisms, standard documents and contract/tender templates.
• Capability in establishing and tracking tender/contract KPIs and developing management reports.
• Data‑driven reporting approach; knowledge of Power BI or similar reporting tools is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to manage high workloads and multiple simultaneous tender/contract processes in a planned, systematic and results‑oriented manner.
