Job description

Business Analyst – AI & Product Analytics

We are looking for a Business Analyst who can bridge business needs, software development, AI, and product usage analytics. This role will work closely with product owners, developers, and stakeholders to understand how applications are being used, identify opportunities for improvement, and help guide future development.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working with technical teams and data but does not need to be a software developer. They should understand SQL, AI-assisted/agentic software development, application analytics, and user journeys, and be able to translate technical findings into clear business recommendations.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze application usage to understand how users interact with the product, including user journeys, frequently used features, underused features, and usage patterns.
  • Use application logs, analytics, database information, and other available data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Write and execute basic SQL queries to retrieve and analyze data.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce operating costs through software or process changes, such as eliminating unnecessary processing, simplifying workflows, automating manual activities, or improving application architecture and usage.
  • Help determine which product features are providing the most value and which may need improvement, simplification, or retirement.
  • Analyze current usage patterns and help anticipate future application usage and capacity needs.
  • Follow end-to-end user journeys to identify friction points, inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve the user experience.
  • Work with development teams using modern AI-assisted and agentic SDLC practices, including AI tools used for requirements analysis, development, testing, documentation, and software delivery.
  • Translate business requirements and analytical findings into clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and recommendations for development teams.
  • Participate in product reviews and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Conduct software demonstrations in English for customers, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Recommend measurable improvements and help evaluate whether implemented changes achieved the expected business or cost benefits.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and the ability to write basic queries using SELECT, JOIN, WHERE, GROUP BY, aggregate functions, and similar constructs.
  • Experience analyzing application usage, logs, telemetry, product analytics, or user behavior.
  • Strong understanding of user journeys and the ability to analyze how users move through software applications.
  • Familiarity with AI technologies and AI-assisted/agentic software development practices.
  • Ability to understand software systems well enough to identify opportunities for cost reduction, automation, and process improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with developers, product owners, business stakeholders, and customers.
  • Strong spoken and written English, including the ability to confidently demonstrate software and explain technical concepts to business users.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SaaS or enterprise software products.
  • Experience with application monitoring, logging, telemetry, or product analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments such as Azure or AWS.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Experience with AI-enabled applications, LLMs, AI agents, or agentic workflows.
  • Experience identifying and quantifying software-related cost savings.
What Success Looks Like

A successful person in this role will be able to look beyond individual requirements and understand how the application is actually being used. They will use data, logs, user behavior, and business context to answer questions such as:

  • Which features are users using most?
  • Where are users getting stuck or abandoning a workflow?
  • Which functionality is rarely used?
  • How is usage likely to change in the future?
  • Where are we spending money unnecessarily?
  • Can a software or workflow change reduce that cost?
  • What should the development team improve or automate next?

The goal is to turn application data and user behavior into actionable recommendations that improve the product, reduce costs, and help guide future development.
