Job summary

Ford Otosan in Türkiye is seeking a Body Manufacturing Engineer to drive body quality processes and coordinate manufacturing engineering product implementations. The role focuses on improving efficiency and product quality through collaboration with assembly, paint shop, and related teams.

You will contribute to design feedback, feasibility studies, layouts, and equipment coordination, while supporting lean manufacturing and problem-solving methodologies to meet targets and timelines.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of spot welding and gas metal arc welding used in body panel joining.
• Knowledge of body automation systems, machinery and components.
• Basic knowledge of robot technologies.
• Familiarity with data collection/processing systems.
• Ability to prepare technical specifications, CAPEX and contracts.
• Layout preparation using AutoCAD and Process Simulate; layout investigation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate manufacturing engineering product implementation and trainings.
• Provide feedback to design/manufacturing engineering in new product and process design.
• Prepare and follow up project timelines.
• Conduct feasibility studies and prepare for approval.
• Provide feedback to design team for investment budgets.
• Prepare layouts according to new product design.
• Follow up machine equipment design and setups.
• Coordinate with other departments to achieve efficiency and quality targets.
• Develop problem-solving approaches from an engineering perspective.

Job Description:

The aim of the Body Manufacturing Engineer is to take actions towards Ford Otosan's purpose of becoming Turkey's most valuable and most preferred brand, and manage the body quality processes that will ensure that customers who prefer Otosan products are also satisfied with the quality of the product.

Main Responsibilities:

• To coordinate Manufacturing Engineering product implementation operations and trainings. To ensure that processes progress on time and in appropriate quality by collaborating with relevant fields (assembly, paint shop, pvt, etc.),


• To provide feedback to design manufacturing engineering in new product and process design activities,


• To prepare and follow up project timeline,


• To conduct feasibility studies and to make them ready for approval,


• To provide feedback to design team in preparation of investment budgets,


• To prepare layouts according to new product design,


• To follow up machine equipment design and manufacturing, to involve setups,


• To take the necessary actions in order to realize the product and production process in the desired efficiency and quality targets within time constraint by ensuring project coordination with other manufacturing departments.


• To develop effective approach to problem solving with an engineering perspective.

Qualifications:

• Having basic technical knowledge of spot welding, Gas metal arc welding, which are Body Panel joining technologies


• Knowledge of body automation systems, used machinery, equipment and components


• Basic knowledge of robot technologies


• Having basic knowledge in data collection, processing systems


• Having knowledge of preparing technical specification, capex and contracts processes


• Having knowledge of layout preparation (Autocad, Process Simulate), layout investigation, body prosess flow


• Having knowledge of Problem Solving Methodologies (6-sigma, TRIZ, etc.)


• Having knowledge in Lean Manufacturing systems.


• Having basic knowledge of machine control and safety


• Nice to have knowledge of data mining and programming (Python, C++, vs.)


• Nice to have Desing Thinking ve PMP tranings


• Having knowledge of risk analysis, FMEA prosesses
