Job summary

FunnelFox is seeking a Tech Lead to own Billing as a product, guiding architecture, scalability, and reliability while aligning with business priorities. You’ll collaborate with Product and stakeholders to shape roadmaps and deliver features that directly affect revenue and customer value.

You’ll lead incident response, mentor engineers, and help scale the team as the product enters its next growth phase, while maintaining a hands-on, autonomous working style in a flexible remote setup.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Python as your primary language, actively used now.
• Experience with payment systems or billing infrastructure at scale (systems processing $50M+ per year).
• PostgreSQL experience.
• Docker and Kubernetes basics (you don't own infra, but you need to understand how it works).
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, alerting, observability.
• Ability to handle both feature development and operational complexity.
• Product and business orientation: you think about revenue impact, not just code correctness.
• Autonomous working style.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical execution and evolution of Billing.
• Partner closely with Product and business stakeholders to shape solutions, priorities, and roadmap.
• Drive architecture, scalability, reliability, and observability across the platform.
• Build and ship features that improve customer value and business growth.
• Lead incident investigation and continuously improve operational excellence.
• Mentor engineers while remaining hands-on.
