Job summary

Volt Lines in Istanbul is seeking a talented Backend Engineer to join our effort to modernize urban mobility. You will design, implement, and maintain server-side applications that power our shuttle service and marketplace features.

You will work with Django, REST APIs, PostgreSQL, Redis, and containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, secure systems and great user experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in CS or related field.
• 2+ years backend development with Python.
• Experience with Django and Django REST Framework.
• RESTful APIs design and implementation.
• PostgreSQL production experience including schema design and migrations.
• Redis and Celery experience for caching and background jobs.
• Kafka or similar event streaming systems familiarity.
• Git workflows, code reviews, and testing.
• Docker and Kubernetes basics for containerization and orchestration.
• Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain server-side applications to support Volt Lines' business objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and design new features.
• Optimize and improve existing backend architecture for performance and reliability.
• Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of backend systems.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and integrate them into the development process.
• Contribute to database design and management, ensuring data integrity and security.
