Job summary

The Magnum Ice Cream Company in Istanbul is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager Financial Controller to join our Country Finance & Controlling Team, overseeing the Middle East region. You will gain exposure to financial reporting, internal & external assurance, controls and finance operations in a dynamic international environment.

You will work with cross-functional teams, manage month-end closes, and contribute to risk management and process improvements in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience in finance or audit.
• Accounting and IFRS knowledge are musts.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office; ERP systems experience (SAP) is a plus.
• Fluent English and Turkish language required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely financial reporting for group and local statutory reporting.
• Collaborate with 3rd party accounting and tax teams and external auditors.
• Perform variance analysis and analytical review of financial statements.
• Lead month-end closing activities with proactive planning and stakeholder communication.
• Support broad financial controlling, accounting activities and projects.
• Ensure GL reconciliations align with control requirements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams.

Assistant Manager Financial Controller plays a key role in UAE financial controlling team covering financial accounting and reporting, risk management and control, internal & external assurance and has a wide range of responsibilities including finance operations.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Financial Reporting & Accounting

• Work on accurate and timely financial reporting for both group and local statutory reporting.
• Execute daily operations in collaboration with 3rd party accounting and tax teams as well as external audit teams.
• Perform variance analysis and analytical review on financial statements.
• Be the key person of month-end closing activities in line with deadlines by proactive planning and communicating with stakeholders.
• Contribute to a broad range of other financial controlling & accounting activities and projects.
• Perform GL account reconciliations in line with the control requirements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams.

Internal & External Assurance

• Liaise with Corporate Audit & work on any follow up actions.
• Collaborate with external auditors during the audit processes.
• Work very closely with the global controlling teams and implement required standards of risk control and maintain insurance against risks specified in the Global Insurance & Risk Control Standard.

Financial Processes

• Deploy the global financial process efficiency programs in the market.
• Eliminate, simplify, automate and/or centralise transactional activities.

Risk Management & Controls

• Follow the risk management agenda, work on high-quality risk assessments.
• Understand root causes of issues and identify where controls are not operating and work on remediation through relevant business leaders and wider Controlling Team.
• Ensure that the Global Financial Controls Framework is embedded and operating in line with the agreed global model.
• Maintain and enforce relevant local authority schedules.
• Participate in Control Health Indicators (CHI) meetings and providing expertise & support.

We're Looking For Someone Who

• Minimum 6 years of experience (Independent financial audit background along with financial reporting is preferable).
• Accounting and IFRS knowledge are must.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office; ERP systems (Preferably SAP) experience is a plus.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Critical and independent thinking.
• Ability to perform under time pressure.
• Problem-solving skills, ability to make reliable and objective judgments and conclusions.
• Turkish language and advanced English are must.
