Job summary

Tekfen Engineering is seeking an Alignment Design Engineer to be based at its Head Office in Turkey. You will design motorways, highways, roads, railway and mass transit alignments from Concept through final design, developing geometry, grading and drainage.

The candidate holds a Civil/Geomatics Engineering degree (Master’s preferred) with 4-5 years of roadway/rail design experience, and is proficient in Bentley Microstation-Inroads/Openroads and AutoCAD-Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4-5 years roadway/rail design experience on relevant projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Geomatics Engineering; Master’s in Transportation Engineering an advantage.
• Proficient in highway, motorway, arterial, local street, railway and mass transit design projects.
• Experience developing designs, specifications and estimates for transportation projects.
• Fluent in English; strong communication skills; willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Design motorways, highways, roads, railway and mass transit systems including geometric layout, grading and drainage.
• Participate in Civil/Highway Design team from conceptual to final design.
• Prepare plans, specifications, and bid packages.
• Ensure outputs meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements.
• Support project management activities.
• Support tender preparation and business development activities.

We are currently seeking an “Alignment Design Engineer” to be based at Tekfen Engineering’s Head Office, with the following qualifications.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 4-5 years roadway/rail system design experience on relevant projects
• A Civil/Geomatics Engineering Bachelor’s degree from reputable universities is required and a Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering is an advantage
• Proficient in motorway, state highway, arterial, local street, railway, mass transit systems (metro, LRT, tramway, etc.) design projects, including the development of horizontal and vertical alignments and modeling
• Have experience for developing designs, specifications, and estimates for transportation projects
• Significant technical design experience and extensive knowledge of Turkish and international (AASHTO, etc.) highway/rail system design manuals/guidelines.
• Experience of using highway design software such as Bentley Microstation-Inroads/Openroads and/or Autodesk AutoCAD-Civil 3D, etc.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Willingness to travel for limited periods is essential
• Knowledge of fluent English is obligatory
• Experience in project management would be an advantage

Responsibilities:

• Design of motorways, highways, roads, railway and/or mass transit systems, including development of geometric layout, grading and drainage
• Taking part in a Civil/Highway Design team with all aspects of Transportation Design from conceptual and preliminary engineering to final design
• Preparing plans, specifications, and bid packages
• Ensuring that production of specifications, reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements,
• Support project management activities
• Support business development/tender preparation activities
