Job summary

Wearnes Automotive Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is seeking a Workshop Manager to lead the technician team, allocate work based on skill, and ensure timely completion with top quality.

You will oversee diagnostics, uphold safety standards, and coordinate with Service Advisors to keep customers informed about progress. The role requires strong leadership, a focus on quality and first-time fixes, and familiarity with dealer systems.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a workshop control or senior technician role, preferably within a premium automotive environment.
• Familiarity with Jaguar Land Rover service systems and processes.
• Strong focus on quality, safety, and first-time fix rate.
• Excellent technical knowledge across modern vehicle systems.
• Good understanding of warranty and manufacturer standards.
• Proficient with dealership systems (CDK/Kerridge, TOPIx, AutoGateway).
• Possess a valid Class 3 driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Allocate work to technicians based on skill level, job priority, and availability.
• Monitor job progress throughout the day to ensure timely completion and handover.
• Ensure workshop efficiency and productivity targets are met or exceeded.
• Provide guidance to technicians on complex diagnostics and repair procedures.
• Ensure quality control checks are carried out on completed work.
• Authorise additional work required and liaise with Service Advisors for customer approval.
• Work closely with Service Advisors to keep customers updated on progress.
• Support the investigation and resolution of customer complaints and comebacks.
• Ensure high standards of vehicle care and presentation.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the workshop.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
• Ensure that all repairs comply with JLR and legal standards.
• Lead and motivate the technician team to deliver high performance.
• Conduct regular team briefings, monitor training needs, and support technician development.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of workshop staff.
• Review and authorise job cards and ensure accurate labour recording.
• Monitor parts delays and coordinate effectively with the Parts Department.
• Report on workshop KPIs such as efficiency, productivity, and utilisation.
