Job summary

WSH Experts Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks an experienced WSH Officer to lead safety compliance across installations. The role involves quarterly briefings to the WIOMD Safety Committee, advising the S.O. on safety measures, and inspecting installations for potential risks to workers.

Responsibilities include investigating accidents, organising safety campaigns and conducting orientation briefings for contractors, with close coordination to uphold the WSH Act and Fire Safety Act.

Responsibilities

• Brief the Waste Infrastructure Operations and Management Division (WIOMD) Safety Committee quarterly on incidences and MOM rule updates.
• Advise the Site Office (S.O.) on safety and health measures for personnel at installations.
• Inspect installations to identify machinery, equipment, processes, or manual labor with risk of bodily injury.
• Discuss inspection findings with the plant supervisor and report to the S.O. of the installation.
• Assist the plant supervisor in investigating accidents and verify reports and corrective actions.
• Investigate every fatal accident and dangerous occurrence within installations and any industrial disease involved.
• Organise campaigns, training courses, competitions, and activities to foster safe and healthy working conditions.
• Conduct safety orientation briefings for in-house term contractors and ad-hoc contractors before they work at installations.
• Advise on specifications for repairs, alterations, or new machinery to be installed or used in installations.
• Act as secretary to the WSH committee and assist the Chairman in planning and directing committee functions.
• Co-operate with doctors engaged to safeguard workers’ health on safety matters.
• Participate in inspections by management to assess efficacy of measures under the WSH and Fire Safety Acts.
• Conduct safety inspections with WSH Inspection Teams and compile safety inspection reports.
• Keep workplace records prescribed under the WSH Act.
