Job summary

VFI FOOD PTE. LTD. invites an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse operations and supervise the team. You will coordinate receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatch while ensuring inventory accuracy and compliance with food safety and company SOPs.

You will monitor staff performance, provide on-the-job training, and work with cross-functional teams to support production and logistics. The role requires hands-on leadership in a busy warehouse environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant warehouse or logistics experience, preferably with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Experience supervising warehouse staff and coordinating daily activities.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, distribution, FMCG or cold-chain operations is an advantage.
  • Proficient in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and basic inventory processes.
  • Comfortable working in chillers and freezers when required.
  • Good organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatch.
  • Allocate manpower and tasks to ensure smooth operations and timely execution.
  • Monitor staff performance, discipline and adherence to SOPs; provide on-the-job training.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through WMS; conduct regular cycle counts and reconciliations.
  • Ensure proper handling of food products and compliance with safety requirements.
  • Oversee equipment use and maintenance; monitor space utilisation and records.
  • Prepare inventory and operations reports; escalate issues to Management.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse operations, supervise the warehouse team, coordinate receiving and dispatch activities, maintain inventory accuracy and ensure compliance with food safety, workplace safety and company SOPs.

Key Responsibilities
1. Warehouse Operations & Supervision
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of warehouse staff, including receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatch.
  • Allocate manpower and work assignments to ensure smooth and timely warehouse operations.
  • Monitor staff performance, work discipline and adherence to warehouse SOPs.
  • Provide on-the-job guidance and training to warehouse team members.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping, cleanliness and organisation of all warehouse areas.
2. Inventory & Stock Control
  • Oversee the receiving, storing, issuing and movement of raw materials, packaging materials and finished goods.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts and inventory reconciliation.
  • Investigate and follow up on stock discrepancies, damaged goods, shortages and excesses.
  • Monitor stock condition, expiry dates and storage requirements.
3. Receiving, Storage & Dispatch
  • Verify incoming goods against delivery orders, purchase orders and relevant documentation.
  • Ensure goods are properly inspected, labelled and stored in designated locations.
  • Coordinate picking and packing activities according to customer or production requirements.
  • Ensure outgoing goods are accurately picked, checked, packed and dispatched according to delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate with Production, Procurement, Business Development and Logistics teams to support operational requirements.
4. Food Safety, Quality & Workplace Safety
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of food products in accordance with company food safety and hygiene requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate temperature and storage conditions for chilled and frozen products.
  • Ensure warehouse staff comply with workplace safety procedures and proper manual handling practices.
  • Monitor the condition and cleanliness of warehouse equipment, storage areas and workspaces.
  • Report safety hazards, product damage, contamination risks or operational issues promptly to Management.
5. Equipment & Warehouse Control
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks, trolleys and forklifts where applicable.
  • Monitor warehouse space utilisation and ensure goods are stored safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure proper control of warehouse access, keys, equipment and operational records.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve warehouse productivity, accuracy and efficiency.
6. Reporting & Administration
  • Maintain accurate warehouse records, including receiving, issuing, stock movement and dispatch documentation.
  • Prepare regular inventory and warehouse operation reports as required.
  • Monitor warehouse KPI such as inventory accuracy, order fulfilment, stock discrepancies, productivity and delivery readiness.
  • Escalate operational issues, manpower concerns and inventory discrepancies to the Reporting Head promptly.
  • Perform other duties and operational assignments as reasonably assigned by Management.
Working Hours: Monday – Saturday: 8:00AM – 5:00PM
Job Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant warehouse or logistics experience, preferably with supervisory experience.
  • Experience supervising warehouse staff and coordinating daily warehouse activities.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, food distribution, FMCG or cold-chain operations will be an advantage.
  • Proficient in using Warehouse Management Systems(WMS) and basic inventory management processes.
  • Comfortable working in chiller and freezer environments where required.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace safety requirements.
  • Good organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently, lead a team and respond effectively to operational priorities.
  • Comfortable performing hands-on warehouse duties, including manual handling and movement of goods, as required by operational needs and in accordance with workplace safety requirements.
  • The ideal candidate is a hands-on warehouse supervisor who can lead a small team while remaining actively involved in daily warehouse operations.
