Job summary

Citi is seeking a senior trader to oversee a trading book, generate revenues, and manage risk in coordination with the Markets and Securities Services teams. You will engage with Sales, Research, and desk analysts to deliver profitable trades and uphold governance standards.

The role requires 6–10 years of experience, strong analytical ability, and excellent communication to manage internal and external stakeholders. A focus on compliant, ethical trading and timely licensing is essential.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of experience in a related role.
• Knowledge of respective products and clients.
• Required licensing and registrations as applicable.
• Advanced analytical and numerical competency.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills for stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a trading book and generate revenues and manage risk for the respective business.
• Coordinate with Sales, Research, CMand and other organizations across Markets and Securities Services and the broader business.
• Trade a book and deliver on budgeted revenues and manage book risk.
• Establish and maintain key relationships to deliver trades to the desk.
• Anticipate client demand in each respective product/market.
• Coordinate with desk analysts and sales to develop the franchise.
• Lead governance and controls with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Audit, Finance.”
• Build a culture of responsible finance, governance, ethics and expense discipline.
• Assess risk/reward of transactions with the firm’s reputation in mind.
• Adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services.
• Obtain and maintain registrations/licenses in time.
• Escalate and report control issues with transparency.
