Job summary

Beecroft Animal Specialist & Emergency Hospital in Singapore is seeking a Veterinary In-House Laboratory Technician to support diagnostic testing and specimen processing. You will perform routine tests (haematology, biochemistry, microbiology), maintain equipment, and ensure accurate records under SOPs.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biomedical Science, Biotechnology, Applied Science or a related discipline.
• Preferably 1–2 years of relevant laboratory experience; clinical/veterinary diagnostic lab experience is an advantage.
• Foundational knowledge of laboratory testing procedures, sample processing and laboratory safety.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment, routine calibration and quality control procedures.
• Ability to perform routine diagnostic testing accurately in accordance with SOPs.
• Good organizational skills, attention to detail and accurate documentation.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently and with the clinical team.
• Willingness to learn and develop practical veterinary diagnostic laboratory skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory tests including haematology, clinical biochemistry and microbiology per SOPs.
• Receive, prepare, process and document biological specimens.
• Operate laboratory equipment and analyzers with accuracy.
• Perform routine equipment calibration, maintenance and QC checks.
• Prepare blood smears and assist with microscopy, urinalysis as trained.
• Identify abnormal findings or issues and escalate as needed.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and test results.
• Monitor inventory and assist with procurement of reagents and supplies.
• Maintain in-house blood refrigerator and component freezer with proper storage.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, infection control and safety standards.
• Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with veterinarians and clinical staff for timely testing.
• Perform other laboratory-related duties as assigned.
