Job summary

Hapag-Lloyd is seeking a proactive Allocation and Capacity Management professional to optimize vessel utilization across designated trades and regions. You will liaise with ship planners, price steering, and commercial teams to balance profitability with service reliability, handling overbooking, contingency measures, and cost mitigation.

Candidates should have operational background in trade management, familiarity with HL applications (FIS, Qlik) and strong stakeholder communication skills.

Qualifications

• Operational background and Trade Management or Commercial Steering experience welcome.
• Comprehensive knowledge about HL applications (FIS, Qlik).
• Proficient in MS-Office products (Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Allocation and Capacity Management on designated Ship Systems / Trades.
• Increase profitability and vessel utilization while reducing operational costs.
• Manage and optimize vessel utilization within Region South Europe across allocation scopes, trades, Geo Forms, and full and MT containers.
• Liaise with ship planners, own or partner lines, on space-related topics and operational restrictions.
• Liaise with QSCs on CSB-related topics and PTO topics.
• Cooperate with TM Pricing & Steering regarding booking development and market situation.
• Align with Area Commercial Steering on market developments.
• Predict voyage utilization and booking developments.
• Handle special cargo approval applications such as OOG and Flexi tank.
• Manage shipment acceptance and waitlists, prioritizing cargo during overbooking based on commercial, operational, and cost considerations.
• Cooperate on ad hoc schedule adjustments and optimizations with Voyage Control, Fleet Support Center, and Regions.
• Communicate and coordinate contingency measures including rollovers, C&R, and omissions.
• Support decisions safeguarding schedule reliability while balancing utilization and cost mitigation.
• Maintain optimal baselines, proactively propose adjustments, and support cost-optimal contingency measures.
• Challenge CA adherence, overbooking levels, and Others' share while ensuring use of the prioritization rulebook.
