Job summary

Hapag-Lloyd AG is seeking a Port Operations Coordinator to oversee berth planning and related operational activities. You will work closely with the Terminal and Local Marine Operations teams, coordinating with port authorities and stakeholders to ensure smooth vessel movements and optimal berth windows.

The role requires a strong understanding of port operations, vessel scheduling, and terminal activities, with a strategic mindset and analytical problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in marine studies, logistics, supply chain management, or related field.
• Proven experience in port and terminal management, berth planning, and hub operations.
• Strong knowledge of port operations, vessel scheduling, and terminal activities.
• Familiarity with port/terminal management software and tools.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate berth planning with terminal operators to ensure smooth vessel operations.
• Monitor ETA/ETC progress and maintain timely communication with stakeholders.
• Liaise with terminal operators to optimize berth lineup and reduce waiting times.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.
• Support performance management and vendor negotiations to meet requirements.
• Promote new business processes for smoother workflows.
• Maintain accurate terminal data in PortChain/Ankeri for scoped locations.
• Act as PortChain super-user and onboard new terminals; collaborate with PortChain team.
• Inspect and verify invoices related to stevedoring, terminal, and port services.
