Job summary

MARINA BAY SANDS PTE. LTD. invites applications for an Upholstery Technician within the Engineering/Facilities team.

You will assist with upkeep of upholstered table surrounds and layouts across the MBS complex, ensuring quality and adherence to SOPs. The role focuses on efficient duties, inspecting shipments, and supporting carpentry modifications while aligning with the company’s policies and values. Prior upholstery or facilities experience preferred; ITE or technical equivalents are

Qualifications

• Worked in Engineering/Facilities related to upholstery.
• Familiar with fabric characteristics and classification.
• Ability to operate portable hand-sewing tools and industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the upkeep of upholstered table surrounds and layouts within all areas of MBS complex.
• Tailors duties and processes to maximize efficiencies, with particular emphasis on minimizing Slot and Table Games downtime.
• Assist with receiving and inspection of shipment of materials, equipment & layout orders to ensure compliance with purchase order specifications.
• Conducts quality and layout checks in compliance with department’s Standard Operating Procedures.
• Assist with destruction of outdated or non-approved layouts.
• Support gaming table carpentry modification when required.
• Participates in/assists with assignments and special projects as requested, ensuring efficiency and minimal downtime for the departments and the company.
• Performs all duties in accordance with MBS policies and within the realm of the MBS Company’svision, mission, and values.
• Performs any other adhoc duty as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education & Certification

• ITE or technical equivalent preferred

Experience

• Worked in the Engineering or Facilities department in relation to Upholstery works

Competencies

• Knowledgeable and skilled in a variety of Upholstery Works.


• Knowledge of Fabric characteristics & classification.


• Competent to operate portable hand‑sewing equipment, nail guns, hobnail. tack hammers, hot‑knife cutters, and other industrial equipment.


• Knowledge of basic soft furniture frame making or repair.
