Job summary

Marina Bay Sands is seeking an Upholsterer to maintain and repair upholstery on furniture and table surrounds across the complex. You will work within the Engineering/Facilities context to ensure quality layouts and compliance with specifications, while supporting ongoing projects and ensuring minimal downtime.

The role emphasizes hands-on upholstery work, equipment operation, and collaboration with various departments to uphold standards and contribute to guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience and skill in upholstery works for furniture or hospitality furniture repairs.
• Knowledge of fabric characteristics and classification.
• Basic soft furniture frame making or repair knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist with upkeep of upholstered table surrounds and layouts in all MBS areas.
• Tailor duties to maximize efficiencies and minimize downtime of Slot and Table Games.
• Assist with receiving and inspection of shipments to ensure PO specifications.
• Conduct quality and layout checks per SOPs.
• Assist with destruction of outdated or non-approved layouts.
• Support gaming table carpentry modification when required.
• Participate in assignments and special projects to ensure efficiency and minimal downtime.
• Adhere to MBS policies and uphold company values.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with the upkeep of upholstered table surrounds and layouts within all areas of MBS complex.
• Tailors duties and processes to maximize efficiencies, with particular emphasis on minimizing Slot and Table Games downtime.
• Assist with receiving and inspection of shipment of materials, equipment & layout orders to ensure compliance with purchase order specifications.
• Conducts quality and layout checks in compliance with department’s Standard Operating Procedures.
• Assist with destruction of outdated or non-approved layouts.
• Support gaming table carpentry modification when required.
• Participates in/assists with assignments and special projects as requested, ensuring efficiency and minimal downtime for the departments and the company.
• Performs all duties in accordance with MBS policies and within the realm of the MBS Company’s vision, mission, and values.
• Performs any other adhoc duty as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Education & Certification ITE or technical equivalent
• Experience Minimum three years of experience as an Upholsterer, preferably involved in furniture making industry or hospitality industry furniture repairs
• Worked in the Engineering or Facilities department in relation to Upholstery works
• Competencies Knowledgeable and skilled in a variety of Upholstery Works.
• Knowledge of Fabric characteristics & classification.
• Competent to operate portable hand‑sewing equipment, nail guns, hobnail. tack hammers, hot‑knife cutters, and other industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of basic soft furniture frame making or repair.
