Multi-market settlement : Direct and supervise the daily processing of settlement (equities, options, CFD, unit trusts, MMF, IPO, and structured products), corporate actions, share/stock transfers, and client cash deposits, withdrawals, and conversions across SG, HK, and US markets, ensuring same-day cut-offs and regulatory timelines are consistently met.
Team management : Manage a team of Operations Executives across settlement, corporate actions, transfer, and cash operations; allocate workload, build cross training and backup coverage, and eliminate single points of failure in time-critical functions such as same-day settlement and corporate-action deadlines during earnings season.
Control manuals & SOPs : Own and maintain the Operations Control Manuals and Standard Operating Procedures across all functions, ensuring maker-checker controls, escalation matrices, and risk-control measures stay current and aligned with regulatory requirements (SFA 2001, SFR(LCB)); maintain system configurations including market calendars, fee schedules, and processing thresholds.
AML/CFT monitoring : Ensure AML/CFT monitoring is embedded in cash operations workflows, including transaction threshold monitoring and timely escalation of suspicious activity to Compliance, while maintaining segregation between transaction processing and monitoring sign-off.
Reconciliation & reporting : Oversee daily custody/position reconciliation and daily/monthly regulatory and management reporting; ensure unresolved breaks and exceptions are escalated per the escalation matrix and evidenced for audit.
Product transition : Partner with the Head of Operations to convert newly tested products and procedures into business-as-usual operations, including team training and live SOP updates.
Quality control : Provide quality-control, ensuring externally performed work remains within the firm's risk and control framework.
Escalation point : Act as the point of escalation for complex client complaints, B2B counterparty issues, and exceptions unresolved at the executive level, escalating further to the Head of Operations where required.
