Assist the Gateway Trade Manager in overall commercial activities of your assigned service(s) and geographic area(s)
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor vessel profile, drive cargo mix to maximise profitability
- Proactively recommend trade strategy (to adapt to, and capitalise on changing market conditions) in terms of pricing adjustments, constraining or relaxing booking releases (in general, and also by specific segments - TL strategy/colour to apply)
Fulfilment of country origin allocations
- Monitor and understand origins' ability and/or challenges to achieve allocated volumes
- Help resolve issues such as pricing, feeder, equipment shortage, etc.
- Drive discussion with origin and HO teams to finetune allocations as necessary dependent on conditions
Customer performance (Trade PIC)
- Negotiate pricing and volume commitment (MQC)
- Drive delivery of volume commitment
- Manage space allocations and ad-hoc pricing requests
Market intel
- Keep up to speed with market rate adjustments
- Proactively source for relevant information on market capacity changes
What We're Looking For
- Minimum Diploma Holder, preferably in shipping, logistics management or business administration
- 1-2 years relevant working experience in the shipping / logistics / freight forwarding industry (Including technical skills, experiences & knowledge).
- Fresh graduates with a strong interest and passion for the shipping and logistics industry are welcome to apply
- Proficient in MS Excel (Vlookup and Pivot Table)
- Basic concept and understanding of shipping
