Test Development Engineer (Payments)

Job summary

HoYoverse in Singapore is seeking a QA/test engineer to own payment and web top-up QA, participate in requirements and design reviews, identify risks, and define test strategies to safeguard payment flows. You will drive AI-assisted test delivery across functional, performance and stability testing, and ensure quality across platforms for global players.

You will build agent-driven validation and load-testing pipelines for new games and payment channels, develop test skills and automation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above with 2–5 years testing/test-development experience.
• Experience testing payments, transactions, e-commerce or fintech with payment flows understanding.
• Proficiency in Python, Java or Go and building test scripts/tools independently.
• Solid knowledge of OS, networking, databases (MySQL, MongoDB) and logs for investigation.

What you'll do

1. Own quality assurance for payment and web top-up services. Participate in requirements and technical design reviews, identify risks through code, configuration and past issues, and define test strategies and assess quality.

2. Drive test delivery in collaboration with AI agents, covering functional, performance and stability testing. Verify results, close coverage gaps, drive issue resolution and take responsibility for quality conclusions.

3. Build agent-driven integration validation and load-testing pipelines for new games and payment channels. Connect configuration checks, test data preparation and end-to-end validation; orchestrate load-test scenarios, execution and metrics analysis to build reusable capabilities.

4. Develop agent skills, tools and automation frameworks, improving knowledge integration, task orchestration, result validation and failure handling to increase test coverage, accuracy and efficiency.

5. Take ownership of cross-team delivery, coordinating with product, engineering, operations and third-party teams to resolve collaboration blockers, improve workflows and increase delivery efficiency.

What we’re looking for

1. Bachelor’s degree or above with 2–5 years of testing or test-development experience;

2. Experience testing payments, transactions, e-commerce or fintech preferred, with a solid understanding of payment flows and common failure scenarios;

3. Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java or Go) and the ability to build test scripts or tools independently;

4. Solid knowledge of operating systems and networking, comfortable with databases (MySQL, MongoDB) and logs for independent issue investigation and data verification;

5. Hands-on performance and load testing experience (JMeter, Locust or in-house platforms) and familiarity with capacity evaluation methodologies;

6. A user-centric mindset: able to understand what players really expect in the payment flow and how failures feel to them, and to prioritise issues accordingly;

7. Hands-on practice with AI agents or LLMs in testing: able to write skills, scripts and tools to extend agent capabilities, or a strong drive for test orchestration and automation;

8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and advanced Chinese, to liaise with teams and review internal documentation;

9. Proactive, able to drive issues to closure and collaborate across teams.

Nice to have: passion for games; multi-currency and risk & compliance experience; Kubernetes-related testing experience; experience building test pipelines or agent capabilities from scratch.
