What the role is:
Science Centre Singapore is looking for a Temporary staff to join the Marketing & Communications department and support the PR and Communications team across day-to-day tasks such as media relations, content development, stakeholder coordination and campaign execution. This role sits within the PR and Communications team, part of the wider Brand and Engagement Division, and offers an opportunity to gain hands‑on experience supporting communications campaigns and initiatives across Science Centre Singapore and its group of attractions. Science Centre Singapore is telling a new chapter of its story. A good chunk of that story is carried by the everyday copy, LinkedIn posts, press releases, speeches, campaigns, even the lines nobody clocks until they are wrong. We are bringing someone on to help write that chapter, and where it goes from here will depend on what they bring to it. The successful candidate should be organised, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and someone who wants real exposure to how a national institution runs its media and content operations.
What you will be working on:
- Support the coordination and execution of PR campaigns for Science Centre Singapore’s exhibitions, events, attractions and other initiatives.
- Manage filming requests and media queries and coordinate media visits.
- Support media and KOL engagements, including coordination, scheduling, follow‑ups and on‑site requirements where needed.
- Liaise with the appointed PR agency on day‑to‑day campaign activities, deliverables and follow‑ups.
- Draft, edit and update communications content, including high standard LinkedIn copywriting, festive conversation starters, event and tenant listings, campaign decks, media materials and other assigned content.
- Support event execution, including preparing media kits and other communications materials.
- Assist with paid content/KOL partnerships
- Support copywriting for key corporate communications, including the Annual Report.
- Support media monitoring and communications reporting, including tracking and compiling media/KOL coverage and campaign results for monthly and campaign reports and presentations.
- Monitor and respond to routine communications‑related emails and requests, escalating matters where necessary.
- Work with internal stakeholders to gather information and ensure communications content is accurate, timely and aligned with agreed messaging.
- For Science Centre Singapore and KidsSTOP™ EDM campaigns, compile relevant information, coordinate with internal stakeholders, and assist with editing and setting up campaigns on the CRM platform.
- Assist with the PR agency tender process, including coordination, documentation and administrative support as required.
- Support administrative and finance‑related processes for PR and communications activities, including raising AORs, obtaining and managing quotations, processing invoices, and maintaining relevant documentation and records.
- Undertake other PR and communications‑related duties as assigned to support the team’s evolving needs and priorities.
What we are looking for:
- A background in marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with good attention to detail and the ability to write clear, engaging copy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using CRM platforms.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable using social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams, agencies, media and external partners.
- Willingness to support events and media engagements outside regular working hours when required.
- Experience in PR, communications, content creation, media relations, paid content partnerships or event support will be an advantage.
- Working arrangement: On‑site at Science Centre Singapore, with some evenings and weekends during events and festival periods.
