Job summary

Direct Search Global is seeking a Technical Sales Manager in Singapore with a solid background in industrial electrical equipment such as motors, generators, VFDs and power conversion systems. You will work with customers and internal engineering teams to understand requirements, develop suitable solutions from proposal through commissioning.

The role involves supporting tender submissions, preparing technical proposals and specifications, and presenting product features.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in technical sales, application engineering or electrical engineering within an industrial environment.
• Experience with motors, generators, VFDs, power conversion systems or related electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Support tendering activities, including preparing technical proposals, quotations, equipment specifications and supporting documentation.
• Engage with customers to understand technical requirements, conduct technical discussions and recommend suitable engineering solutions.
• Provide technical presentations and explain product features, capabilities and application benefits to customers.
• Work closely with the sales and engineering teams to develop competitive and technically compliant proposals.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders to clarify technical specifications and resolve application-related issues.
• Participate in equipment testing, commissioning and site activities to ensure solutions meet customer requirements.
• Coordinate with project and service teams to ensure smooth execution and timely delivery of projects.
• Identify new business opportunities and support the development of long-term customer relationships.
• Provide technical support throughout the sales cycle, including responding to customer queries and addressing technical concerns.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industrial electrical equipment, market developments and competing solutions.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in technical sales, application engineering or electrical engineering within an industrial environment.
• Experience with motors, generators, variable frequency drives (VFDs), power conversion systems or related electrical equipment.
• Familiarity with tendering, technical proposals and customer specifications.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with confidence in engaging customers on technical matters.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and engineering documentation.
• Strong stakeholder management, problem-solving and coordination skills.
• Willingness to travel locally or regionally for customer meetings, site visits, commissioning and testing when required.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates with a combination of technical engineering knowledge and customer-facing experience in industrial electrical equipment, power systems or automation solutions will be preferred.
