Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience with established main contractors in Singapore.
• Strong skills in design coordination and technical submissions.
• Familiar with Singapore building regulations and authority submissions.

Responsibilities

The Role

Our client, an established A1 Main Contractor in Singapore, is looking for an experienced Technical Manager to oversee technical matters, design coordination and engineering aspects of building construction projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee all technical and engineering matters throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead and coordinate design development, technical submissions and construction drawings.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, architects, engineers and relevant authorities on technical matters.
• Review architectural, structural and M&E drawings to identify discrepancies and resolve design coordination issues.
• Ensure design proposals and construction works comply with project specifications, statutory requirements and relevant building regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and support to Project Managers, Engineers and site teams.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers on technical specifications, materials and construction methodologies.
• Review method statements, material submissions, shop drawings and other technical documentation.
• Identify potential technical issues and propose practical engineering solutions to minimise construction delays and rework.
• Ensure proper coordination between design, procurement and construction teams.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the building construction industry.
• Previous experience with established main contractors in Singapore.
• Strong experience in design coordination, technical submissions and construction engineering.
• Familiar with Singapore building regulations, authority submissions and construction requirements.
• Good knowledge of architectural and structural drawings, construction methodologies and technical specifications.
