Job summary

BUSINESSASIA CONSULTING PTE. LTD. is seeking a Senior Technical Manager / Technical Manager with a strong on-site track record in building, civil, or marine infrastructure.

You will lead the Technical/Planning team across Civil, Structural, Architectural and M&E disciplines. Key duties include managing shop drawings, coordinating with consultants and clients, resolving technical issues, and directing regular technical meetings to monitor progress on large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• Education: Preferably Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from recognized universities.
• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in delivering projects within large-scale construction organizations.
• Strong on-site track record in Building, Civil or Marine Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Manage site/project technical team with responsibilities for construction methodologies and shop drawings.
• Maintain engineering and design programs by coordinating interfaces and resolving design conflicts.
• Coordinate design matters with Consultants and Clients.
• Resolve technical problems and provide feasible solutions for the project team.
• Chair regular technical meetings for progress monitoring.
• Ensure design and construction solutions meet standards and buildability requirements.

Senior Technical Manager / Technical Manager

Background

Our clients are global/regional MNCs or large local corporations in Construction and Real Estate sector. Well-established over decades with solid reputation. Their large variety of projects covers public and private sectors, across building, civil, marine and/or infrastructure segments. They are looking for astute Technical Managers or Planning Managers with strong on-site track record in Building, Civil Infrastructure or Marine Infrastructure construction projects.

The Position

The Senior / Technical Manager is responsible for leading the Technical or Planning team on all Engineering matters covering Civil & Structural, Architectural and/or M&E disciplines.

A summary of the generic responsibilities of this position are, and not limited to, as follows:

• Management of site/project technical team with overall responsibilities for construction methodologies, method statements, Value Engineering proposals and production of shop drawings.
• Maintaining engineering and design programs by managing interfaces and monitoring progress, coordinating activities, resolving, or coordinating conflicts and issues in design packages.
• Co-ordination of design related matters with Consultants and Clients.
• Resolution of technical problems and providing feasible solutions for project team.
• Working out shop drawings covering major trades, submission of schedules and managing them in orderly manner.
• Chairing regular technical meetings for progress monitoring.
• Optimization of design solutions in compliance with construction standards, regulatory framework, contractual specifications and buildability requirements.
• Ensuring construction teams clearly understand the content and requirements of the latest drawings and requirements.

Qualifications and Key Requirements

• Education: Preferably Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from recognized universities.
• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in delivering projects within large-scale A1 construction maincontractor organizations.
• Strong on-site track record in Building, Civil or Marine Infrastructure. Preference for large-scale MOHH Hospital, Mixed-Use Integrated developments, LTA MRT, or Residential/Commercial/Institutional/ High-Specifications Industrial Building projects of Contract Sums above SGD200Million.

Technical Competencies

• Technical expertise and knowledge in Civil / Structural Design and Constructability.
• Administration with established experience and proven ability to deliver projects.
• Proven track record of managing teams and delivering projects from start to hand-over.
• Extensive experience within a construction environment demonstrating accountability and ability to meet commitments through key internal stakeholders, clients and staff at all levels.
• Microsoft office skills and in particular, use of Microsoft Project.
