Job summary

Excelitas Technologies is seeking a Technical Lead in Singapore to oversee precision optical polishing operations. You will ensure quality, set up and maintain polishing equipment, and drive process improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role requires a Diploma in Engineering and at least 10 years in optical manufacturing, with hands-on experience in Pre-Polishing and Final Polishing. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work rotating shifts are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of relevant optical manufacturing experience.
• Experience handling precision optical components at Pre‑Polishing and Final Polishing.
• Good interpersonal skills and teamwork.
• Able to follow SOPs and work instructions; attention to detail.
• Willing to work overtime and rotating shifts.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform Pre‑Polishing and Final Polishing for optical blocks per process specifications and work instructions.
• Ensure product quality, surface finish, and dimensional requirements meet customer specifications.
• Set up, operate, and maintain polishing machines, tools, and consumables.
• Monitor process performance and troubleshoot quality or process issues.
• Support yield improvement, scrap reduction, and continuous improvement activities.
• Coordinate with Process Engineering on new products, qualifications, and process enhancements.
• Train and mentor technicians and operators on polishing techniques and best practices.
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.

Main responsibilities:

Requirements.

• Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in optical manufacturing, lapping, polishing, or precision surface processing.
• Experience handling precision optical components such as windows, prisms, wedges, lenses, and optical blocks at Pre‑Polishing and Final Polishing processes is required.
• Good interpersonal skill, attitude and a team worker
• Able to follow SOPs and work instructions.awareness and attention to detail.
• Team player with good safety awareness.
• Flexible to work overtime as required.
• Must be able to work in rotating shift pattern or 12 hour shift.
• Proficiency in general Microsoft application including MS word and Excel.
