Job summary

Excelitas Technologies Corp. in Singapore is seeking a Technical Lead to oversee the pre-polishing and polishing of optical blocks, ensuring adherence to process specifications and quality standards.

You will set up and operate polishing machines, mentor technicians, and collaborate with Process Engineering on new products and process enhancements. The role requires a Diploma in Engineering, at least 10 years of experience in optical manufacturing, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in optical manufacturing, lapping, polishing, or precision surface processing.
• Experience handling precision optical components such as windows, prisms, wedges, lenses and optical blocks is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and team orientation.
• Ability to follow SOPs and work instructions, with good safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Perform Pre-Polishing and Final Polishing for optical blocks according to process specifications and work instructions.
• Ensure product quality, surface finish, and dimensional requirements meet customer specifications.
• Set up, operate, and maintain polishing machines, tools, and consumables.
• Monitor process performance and troubleshoot quality or process issues.
• Support yield improvement, scrap reduction and continuous improvement activities.
• Coordinate with Process Engineering on new products, qualifications, and process enhancements.
• Train and mentor technicians and operators on polishing techniques and best practices.
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.

• Good interpersonal skill, attitude and a team worker
• Able to follow SOPs and work instructions.awareness and attention to detail.
• Team player with good safety awareness.
• Flexible to work overtime as required.
• Must be able to work in rotating shift pattern or 12 hour shift.
• Proficiency in general Microsoft application including MS word and Excel.
