Job summary

the inception recruitment pte. ltd. is seeking a seasoned Head of Technical in Singapore to lead engineering, design, and delivery for curtain wall and façade projects.

You will oversee drafting, shop drawings, and structural calculations, acting as the technical authority across facade systems and building integration. The role requires 6+ years in technical/engineering roles with 3+ years in leadership within curtain wall/facade specialist engineering, plus strong AutoCAD and Revit proficiency

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of technical/engineering experience in local construction.
• At least 3 years in a leadership/head technical role within curtain wall / facade specialist engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of curtain wall systems and facade finishing works.
• Familiarity with Singapore BCA Building Regulations, SS standards, Eurocodes, and SCDF Fire Safety.
• PE or facade engineering certification is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and engineering direction for design, drawings, fabrication, and structural calculations.
• Serve as senior technical authority for curtain wall, cladding, and related works.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory codes and project QA/QC procedures.
• Review submittals, design submissions, and procurement evaluations for facade components.

Job description

Position Title: Head of Technical
Working Hours: 6 days/week

Our client are seeking an experienced and vision-driven Head of Technical to lead our technical, engineering, and design delivery functions, with a strong core emphasis on curtain wall / facade systems alongside general building and architectural fit-out integration.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Engineering Direction

• Lead and oversee the technical, design, and draft engineering teams in executing technical proposals, detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and structural calculations.
• Serve as the senior technical authority across all curtain wall, unitized facade, cladding, structural glazing, and architectural finishing works.
• Ensure all engineering design solutions comply with local regulatory codes (BCA, Eurocodes, SS, Fire Safety/SCDF, and relevant authority requirements).

Project Delivery & Technical Governance

• Partner with Project Managers and Site Teams to review technical feasibility, methodology statements, facade system performance (mock-up tests, air/water tightness tests), and installation sequences.
• Resolve complex engineering issues, design conflicts, and site technical discrepancies efficiently.
• Oversee value engineering initiatives without compromising structural integrity, quality, or compliance standards.

Vendor & Subcontractor Technical Oversight

• Review material submittals, specialist subcontractor design submissions, and structural consultant endorsements.
• Conduct technical evaluations during procurement phases for glass, aluminum extrusions, sealants, brackets, and key facade hardware.

Team Mentorship & Operations Management

• Mentor, train, and manage in-house draftsmen, structural engineers, and technical coordinators.
• Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for drawing management, BIM/CAD workflows, and technical QA/QC processes.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 6 years of technical/engineering experience in the local construction sector, with at least 3 years in a leadership/head technical role specifically within curtain wall / facade specialist engineering.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • In-depth knowledge of aluminum curtain wall systems, structural sealant glazing, unitized/stick systems, metal cladding, and skylights.
  • Familiarity with CW01 (General Building) and GB1 operational protocols in Singapore.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), and structural analysis software.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep working knowledge of BCA Building Regulations, Singapore Standards, Eurocodes, and SCDF Fire Safety regulations.
• Leadership Skills: Proven track record in managing cross-functional technical teams, coordinating with consultants, developers, and main contractors.

• Certifications: PE (Professional Engineer) registration or certification in Facade Engineering is an added advantage.
