The role requires experience in curtain wall systems and proficiency with leading façade design software, enabling effective collaboration with clients, architects and suppliers throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of façade design experience in curtain wall, façade, glazing, or building envelope.
• Strong knowledge of curtain wall systems and related building envelope components.
• Familiarity with Singapore building regulations and façade design standards.
• Proficiency in façade design software (Revit, BIM modelling, SolidWorks, Rhino, Grasshopper).

Responsibilities

• Develop façade design solutions from concept through construction documentation.
• Prepare façade engineering calculations, analyses, and design reports.
• Produce and review façade shop, fabrication, installation, and as-built drawings.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, consultants, and project teams on design matters.
• Attend design coordination meetings and manage RFIs and technical submissions.
• Ensure façade designs comply with project specs and Singapore regulations.

Job description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Façade Design Engineer to join our growing team in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for façade design development from concept design through detailed engineering and shop drawing stages, ensuring compliance with project specifications, local regulations, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop façade design solutions from concept and preliminary design stages through detailed design and construction documentation.
• Prepare façade engineering calculations, technical analyses, design reports, and supporting documentation.
• Produce and review façade shop drawings, fabrication drawings, installation drawings, and as-built documentation.
• Review architectural, structural, and consultant drawings to identify design conflicts, technical issues, and constructability concerns.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, consultants, main contractors, suppliers, and project teams on design and technical matters.
• Attend design coordination meetings, technical discussions, and project review meetings as required.
• Prepare and manage Requests for Information (RFIs), technical submissions, method statements, and material submissions.
• Ensure all façade designs comply with project specifications, Singapore building regulations, and relevant industry standards.
• Support project teams in resolving site-related technical issues during fabrication and installation stages.Monitor design progress and drawing submission schedules to ensure project milestones are achieved.
• Stay updated on local façade design standards, engineering practices, and industry developments.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Building Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of façade design experience within the curtain wall, façade, glazing, or building envelope industry.
• Strong knowledge of curtain wall systems, aluminium façade systems, glazing systems, and related building envelope components.
• Familiarity with Singapore building regulations, façade design standards, and industry practices.
• Ability to understand and explain differences between Singapore and Chinese façade design standards and engineering requirements.
• Experience in façade concept design, engineering design, structural analysis, detailed design, and shop drawing development.
• Ability to review structural calculations, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Strong understanding of façade materials, fabrication processes, installation methods, and construction practices.
• Proficiency in Revit, BIM modelling, SolidWorks, Rhino, Grasshopper, or other façade design software.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
• Good command of English for technical communication and coordination with project stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in landmark buildings, high-rise developments, transportation hubs, commercial complexes, or architecturally complex façade projects.
• Experience with freeform, irregular-shaped, or double-curved façade systems.
• Familiarity with façade performance requirements including structural, thermal, waterproofing, air infiltration, and façade testing standards.
