Job summary

People Profilers Pte Ltd is seeking a senior structural engineer to lead complex building designs in Singapore. You will drive design development, perform advanced analyses, and prepare drawings for construction, collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

You will oversee permit submissions, ensure compliance with SS EN Eurocodes, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating with the China HQ for cross-border projects. A PE-eligible profile and strong software skills are required.

Qualifications

• At least Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant structural design experience.
• Familiarity with Singapore’s building and structural regulatory framework (SS EN Eurocodes, BCA submissions).
• Singapore-registered PE (Civil/Structural) preferred or PE-eligible.
• Proficiency in multiple structural software tools (2–3 of SAP2000, ETABS, 3D3S, Dlubal, IDEA StatiCa) and AutoCAD; Rhino/Grasshopper, Revit, Tekla a plus.

Job Responsibilities

Structural Design & Technical Delivery

• Lead structural design for complex building projects, including large-span spatial structures, curved steel structures, irregular geometries, and other technically demanding building types.
• Oversee the full design lifecycle — from concept and design development through structural analysis, detailed/working drawings, and construction-stage support.
• Apply strong technical judgment to resolve complex engineering issues independently.

Singapore Regulatory Compliance & Submissions

• Ensure designs comply with Singapore's building and structural regulatory framework, including applicable Singapore Standards / SS EN Eurocodes and National Annexes.
• Manage BCA structural plan submission processes, prepare required technical documentation, and coordinate with local authorities and design partners.
• Maintain and, where applicable, act as the Singapore-registered PE (Civil/Structural) for relevant project submissions, or work toward PE registration as part of the role.

Design Development & Software Application

• Produce and review structural models and analyses using tools such as SAP2000, ETABS, 3D3S, Dlubal, and IDEA StatiCa, supported by strong AutoCAD documentation skills.
• Utilize Rhino/Grasshopper, Revit, and/or Tekla where relevant to support complex geometry design and coordination.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination

• Lead and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and oversight across the design team.
• Manage design subcontractors and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to drive technical issues to resolution.
• Liaise directly with clients, architects, consultants, contractors, and fabricators to ensure design intent and technical requirements are met.
• Coordinate with the China headquarters/team on cross-border project matters.

Construction-Phase Support

• Provide on-site technical support during construction, addressing design changes, technical clarifications, and fabrication/construction coordination.
• Identify and implement design optimizations to support efficient and buildable outcomes.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

• Conduct technical discussions, meetings, and presentations independently in English, and manage email correspondence and design-document coordination with all project stakeholders.
• Work effectively within a multicultural team and the broader Singapore project environment.

Job Requirements

• At least Bachelor’s degree or above in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant structural design experience. Candidates with strong experience in major complex projects, international projects or design-team leadership.
• Strong experience in large-span spatial structures, complex curved steel structures, irregular structures or other complex building structures. Experience across concept/design development, structural analysis, detailed/working drawings and construction-stage support.
• Singapore Practice: Familiarity with Singapore’s building and structural regulatory framework, including applicable Singapore Standards / SS EN Eurocodes and National Annexes. Experience with BCA structural plan submission processes, technical documentation and local design coordination.
• Professional Registration: Singapore-registered PE (Civil/Structural) is preferred, or candidates with a background that supports PE registration, will be an advantage.
• Software: Proficiency in at least 2–3 of SAP2000, ETABS, 3D3S, Dlubal and IDEA StatiCa, together with strong AutoCAD skills. Experience with Rhino/Grasshopper, Revit and/or Tekla is an advantage.
