Job summary

SHENTON CREDIT PTE. LTD. is seeking a Team Lead, Loan Operations to oversee daily loan activities and guide the team. The role focuses on customer enquiries, loan assessment, issuance, and account management, ensuring efficient operations and accurate documentation.

You will monitor repayments, support collections where needed, and maintain strong customer relationships while upholding regulatory requirements across all processes.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in lending or financial services.
• Able to handle the full loan process with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Detail-oriented with loan documentation responsibilities.
• Able to work independently while contributing to the team.
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and handle loan enquiries via phone, online channels, and in person.
• Assess income, existing loans, credit history and repayment capacity to support management decisions.
• Explain loan terms, fees, and obligations clearly during loan issuance.
• Oversee day-to-day loan operations, applications, follow-ups and account management.
• Monitor repayments and coordinate with customers on overdue payments or arrangements.
• Conduct follow-up calls to maintain relationships with new and existing customers.
• Support the team with daily loan tasks and ensure accurate processing.
• Maintain compliant loan documentation and adhere to internal policies and regulations.
• Assist with ad-hoc duties to ensure smooth operations.

Team Lead, Loan Operations

This role takes an active part in day-to-day loan operations, covering customer enquiries, loan assessment, loan issuance, account management and collections, while supporting the team to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Loan Enquiries
Attend to customer enquiries through phone, online channels and in-person appointments. Understand customers’ financial needs and provide clear and professional explanations of available loan options and procedures.

Loan Assessment & Recommendation
Assess customers’ income, existing loan commitments, credit history and repayment capacity, and provide recommendations on suitable loan amounts and repayment terms for management approval.

Loan Issuance
Handle approved loan cases from documentation through disbursement, including explaining loan terms, repayment schedules, fees and contractual obligations clearly to borrowers.

Daily Loan Operations
Manage day-to-day loan matters, including enquiries, applications, follow-ups, documentation, loan issuance and existing customer accounts. Support the team in ensuring cases are handled accurately and efficiently.

Repayment & Collections
Monitor loan accounts and follow up on upcoming and overdue payments. Communicate professionally with customers regarding outstanding payments and repayment arrangements where necessary.

Customer Follow-Up
Conduct follow-up calls with new and existing customers, manage potential loan enquiries and maintain good customer relationships.

Team & Operational Support
Support the team in day-to-day loan matters and customer cases, and work closely with management to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations.

Documentation & Compliance
Ensure customer information and loan documentation are complete and accurately maintained. Follow the company’s internal procedures and applicable regulatory requirements when processing and issuing loans.

Ad-Hoc Duties
Assist with other operational and administrative duties as required to support smooth day-to-day operations.

Requirements

• Diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in the lending or financial services industry, with strong hands-on experience in loan operations.

• Able to handle the full loan process with minimal supervision.

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Detail-oriented and responsible in handling customer information and loan documentation.

• Able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.

• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements within the lending industry would be an advantage.
